TNPDCL 500 Technician Diploma Apprentices 2026–27 — EEE 455, ECE 35, Computer/IT 10 | NATS Merit, ₹10,900 Stipend
TNPDCL and BOAT(SR) invite Tamil Nadu candidates for 500 Technician (Diploma) Apprenticeship training places during 2026–27: Electrical & Electronics Engineering 455, Electronics & Communication Engineering 35, and Computer Engineering/IT 10. Regular full-time eligible-branch diploma passed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or May 2026; no B.E./B.Tech-and-above route. Prior/current NATS/NAPS apprenticeship, PMIS internship and one year or more work experience exclude applicants. Apply in NATS 28 Oct–28 Nov 2026, entering diploma percentage compulsorily. Stipend ₹10,900/month for one year. BOAT(SR) shortlists by diploma percentage; tentative December shortlist and TNPDCL certificate verification. This is training, not guaranteed employment.

About this Recruitment
Recruitment-specific overview from the published record.
TNPDCL Technician (Diploma) Apprentices 2026–27: 500 Training Places, Three Diploma Branches, NATS Merit and Ward Reservation
Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL), working with the Board of Apprenticeship Training, Southern Region [BOAT(SR)], has notified 500 one-year Technician (Diploma) apprenticeship training places under its 2026–27 programme. The official five-page circular is headed “Notification for engagement of Apprentices for the year 2026–27 under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.” It prints no separate advertisement reference number and no signed issue date. Its application window is explicitly 28 October to 28 November 2026. Neither date should be relabelled an independently proven original issue date. This is a diploma training intake, not a regular government recruitment to 500 permanent posts.
TNPDCL is the Tamil Nadu government's distribution utility: the former TANGEDCO corporate identity was renamed TNPDCL in 2024, while generation and transmission activities are organised separately. The corporate relationship helps explain why the notice mentions several TNEB-related companies under the ward concession, but the hiring organisation for this particular apprenticeship is TNPDCL, and the application must be made against the TNPDCL listing in NATS, not against TNEB, TNPGCL or TANTRANSCO merely because a parent works there.

The original PDF's printed terms are controlling. A website article published on 29 October does not prove the circular itself was signed or first issued on that date.
📊 The 500 seats — official arithmetic and branch fit
| Diploma branch on original advertisement | Training places | Share of 500 | Stipend per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) | 455 | 91% | ₹10,900 |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) | 35 | 7% | ₹10,900 |
| Computer Engineering / Information Technology (Computer/IT) | 10 | 2% | ₹10,900 |
| Total | 500 | 100% | — |
🥧 Share of the 500 advertised apprenticeship training places
| Diploma stream | Training places |
|---|---|
| Electrical and Electronics Engineering | 455 |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering | 35 |
| Computer Engineering / Information Technology | 10 |
Why this matters: EEE carries 455 of 500 seats. ECE competes for its separate 35-seat pool, and Computer Engineering/IT is a combined 10-seat pool, not ten positions for each of the two disciplines. These figures are from page 1; they are not vertical reservation counts, and no advertised category-wise UR/SC/ST/OBC roster can be derived from them. A second bar graph of identical seat numbers would add no information, and a three-bar stipend graph would misleadingly present the same ₹10,900 three times as a salary comparison.
🎓 Essential qualification: diploma identity, recognition, study mode and actual passing month
The circular recognises three qualification-awarding routes. The candidate needs a regular full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant advertised discipline, either (1) from a State Council or Board of Technical Education constituted by a State Government; (2) from a university offering the relevant engineering/technology diploma; or (3) from an institution recognised by the state or central government as equivalent. Because the third route uses government-recognised equivalence, an applicant should retain the actual recognition/equivalence order rather than asserting that an unrelated private course has a similar title.
No minimum percentage is printed as a diploma eligibility threshold. However, the actual percentage of marks is compulsory on NATS because it is the published shortlisting criterion. Do not confuse “no fixed 60% eligibility cutoff announced” with permission to leave the percentage blank. In fact, the NATS instructions say a candidate will not be considered if the percentage field is unfilled. Use the figure on the Diploma Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Mark Sheet and the institution's valid conversion record, if relevant; never invent a CGPA/percentage calculation.
Passing-year rule is narrower than 2022–2026 inclusive. The first paragraph specifies 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and May 2026. It does not generically admit all June–December 2026 pass-outs. A candidate whose result is recorded in an unusual month or academic session should confirm acceptance with BOAT(SR) rather than backdate the qualification or assume that every 2026 graduate qualifies.
B.E./B.Tech. warning: Page 1 specifically states “Higher qualified candidates not required for Diploma Apprentices selection (B.E/B.Tech., and above).” The correct selection is designed for diploma holders; a B.Tech degree by itself is not the advertised qualifying examination. Candidates holding both a diploma and a subsequent degree should seek written clarification of their own status instead of assuming extra degrees earn preference or that a degree can silently replace the diploma. No higher-degree bonus is published.
Four practical cases that decide whether to apply
| Candidate situation | Reading of the original eligibility conditions |
|---|---|
| Tamil Nadu candidate, regular EEE diploma awarded in 2024, no excluded training or one-year experience | Potentially eligible for the 455-place EEE pool, subject to other conditions and verification |
| Tamil Nadu candidate, ECE diploma completed in May 2026, correct academic percentage entered | Potentially eligible for the 35-place ECE pool; diploma marks influence shortlisting |
| Tamil Nadu candidate with Computer Engineering diploma in 2023 | Consider the shared Computer Engineering/IT ten-place pool; not the EEE pool |
| Applicant with only B.E./B.Tech., without the qualifying diploma | Not the advertised Diploma (Technician) qualification; degree is not a substitute |
| Applicant passed in September 2026 | Not within the expressly printed “May 2026” passing window; do not assume covered |
| Applicant has already undertaken NAPS/NATS apprenticeship | Explicitly excluded, whether applying in a new branch or employer |
| Applicant previously completed PMIS internship | Explicitly excluded under clause VI; avoid assuming internship is an advantage |
| Applicant has completed one year or more of work experience | Explicit exclusion; note the circular does not restrict this exclusion to post-diploma employment only |
These are illustrative applicant screenings based on the published words, not individual eligibility certificates issued by TNPDCL.
🚫 The previous-training/experience prohibition: often the decisive exclusion
Clause VI on page 2 separately rules out applicants who have already undergone or are currently undergoing NATS 2.0/NAPS apprenticeship under the named framework, have PMIS internship training, or have one year or more experience. Three important consequences follow. First, there is no minimum experience requirement—experience is not how an apprentice qualifies. Second, do not count an earlier apprenticeship as a beneficial prerequisite; it can prevent admission. Third, do not rewrite the one-year condition as “one year of post-qualification experience” when the original notice does not add that qualifier. Applicants who are unsure how their employment or internship dates are counted should ask the official BOAT(SR) contact, because no day-by-day computation rule is printed.
A brief college project is not automatically the same as a formal NATS/NAPS apprenticeship, and a vocational visit is not necessarily a PMIS internship; treat the precise official programme and documentary history as decisive. Do not conceal completed training or service in NATS. A successful selection remains subject to documentary checks and the employer's apprenticeship rules.
🏠 Tamil Nadu origin, age and physical standards
The first page restricts the opportunity to diploma holders hailing from Tamil Nadu. The notification does not list a standalone domicile-certificate number, form or list of acceptable origin documents; candidates should carry credible relevant records and follow any clarification published by the recruiter. It would be misleading to extend the recruitment to all-India diploma candidates simply because NATS is a national portal.
For age, the advertisement states only “as per Apprenticeship Rules.” It prints no precise minimum age, maximum age or date of reckoning. Do not copy an unrelated apprentice advertisement's 18–24 or 18–25 age bracket. For physical standards, it explicitly references Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as amended. The PDF does not introduce a job-specific height, chest, running, eyesight or medical-score requirement; no such figures belong in this article or its structured fields.
👪 Reservation: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD plus a completely different horizontal ward rule
The vertical reservation policy follows applicable Apprentices Act guidance for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and PwD. The notice does not publish stream-wise or overall reservation-seat counts. Applicants must produce prescribed government-format certificates; otherwise the notice says the reservation claim will be treated as General. In particular, BC/MBC applicants seeking central-format OBC-NCL treatment need the applicable OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued in the approved format; a state-level caste description alone should not be assumed interchangeable with that document.
Separately, page 2 creates up to 10% horizontal ward reservation for sons/daughters of regular, permanent employees of TNEB LIMITED, TNPDCL, TNPGCL, TNGECL or TANTRANSCO. This concession explicitly does not apply where the parent is a contract, temporary, casual or retired employee. The word “up to” means one must not announce 50 already allotted ward seats or mechanically add 50 to 500; the final implementation depends on the published rules, applications and filling process. If eligible wards are unavailable, the company may fill those unfilled places from other available candidates as stated.
Ward applicants: Annexure-A is not optional evidence
- Apply normally through NATS Student Login against TNPDCL, the same way as all other applicants. The ward rule is not a separate secret application route.
- Obtain Annexure-A Ward Certificate in the exact official page-5 format. It names the current regular/permanent employee, designation, office/address, child, the child's 12-digit NATS ID starting ATN, place/date, and issuing officer's signature, designation and seal.
- Bring the completed certificate at certificate verification; the notice does not require sending a paper or soft copy of it to BOAT(SR) or TNPDCL beforehand.
- Bring the parent's employee ID-card copy for verification. A self-declaration that a parent “worked in electricity board” cannot replace proof of current regular employment.
Critical arithmetic: horizontal reservation operates inside the 500 advertised training places. It is not an extra category of 50 newly created vacancies, and it should not be presented as a mutually exclusive slice in the vacancy-share pie above.
💰 Monthly stipend, training tenure and the exact employment disclaimer
All three disciplines are assigned ₹10,900 per month in the official page-1 stipend column, for one year of apprenticeship training. This is a stipend rather than the minimum pay or basic salary of a regular electricity department employee. No pay-matrix level, DA, HRA percentage, in-hand salary, boarding, joining bonus or revised stipend progression is specified. Any monthly amount beyond the stated ₹10,900 is Not specified; do not imply that ₹10,900 is guaranteed net take-home after every possible statutory treatment.
For planning only, multiplying the notified monthly rate by twelve gives ₹1,30,800 over a full paid 12-month period. This is simple arithmetic, not an employer's advertised lump-sum remuneration guarantee: actual start date, attendance, payment procedure and lawful deductions are not provided in this PDF. More importantly, clause XI explicitly says the TNPDCL/TNEB group has no obligation to employ a completed apprentice and an apprentice cannot claim a right to employment merely for finishing training. A candidate seeking a permanent government post should treat this as a training opportunity instead.
📨 NATS application — three registration histories, one correct final submission
The only prescribed application channel is https://nats.education.gov.in/ under Student Login. Do not send forms or certificates by physical post or email to TNEB/TNPDCL/BOAT as a substitute for applying against the posted vacancy. The notice distinguishes three account histories; choose the appropriate one rather than creating duplicate NATS identities.
Route A — already registered on the old mhrdnats.gov.in portal
Open the new NATS site → Student → Student login → Forgot Password. Enter the old registered email, use the activation/reset link, and complete the migrated student application information. After account migration, the notice says a 12-digit enrolment number is generated. Log in with the registered email/new password, open “Apply against advertised vacancies”, search “TAMIL NADU POWER DISTRIBUTION CORPORATION LIMITED (TNPDCL)”, and choose Apply. Confirm that the system status actually changes to “applied”; merely completing migration is not a company application.
Route B — already enrolled in the current NATS portal
Use the existing registered email and password. Open “Apply against advertised vacancies” and search the full TNPDCL employer name, not just a search term such as “TNEB” that might lead to a different company. Click Apply for the correct recruitment and confirm “applied” status. A valid NATS account without this employer-specific application is not an application against the 500 TNPDCL places.
Route C — first-time NATS enrolment
Open the portal → Student → Student Register → complete the required information and receive the 12-digit ATN… enrolment number. Then sign in, search for the employer's full name under advertised vacancies, and apply. The official page-3 note insists that the Diploma Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Mark Sheet percentage must be entered in “% of marks”. If that percentage field is blank, the candidate will not be considered for the merit shortlist even if the academic certificate was uploaded elsewhere.
Before clicking Apply: preserve these records
| Evidence | Why it matters to this notice |
|---|---|
| Diploma provisional certificate / consolidated marksheet | Source of the mandatory exact percentage and actual passing year/month |
| Diploma branch and mode proof | EEE, ECE or Computer Engineering/IT; regular full-time route from recognised authority |
| Tamil Nadu origin documentation | Recruitment restricted to candidates hailing from the state |
| NATS ID and accessible registered email | Enrollment identity, shortlist intimation and official follow-up |
| SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD certificate, where claimed | Published reservation certificate requirement; appropriate government format |
| Annexure-A + parent employee ID, if ward claim | To be produced at certificate verification, not sent separately |
| Details of prior apprenticeship, PMIS training and employment | Need to pass the explicit exclusions accurately |
Before the 28 November closing date, inspect the portal's submitted status and save the appropriate acknowledgement or screenshot. The notification provides no exact closing clock time and no post-deadline correction window; leaving the application until the final minute risks missing the cutoff.
🧭 Merit selection and full recruitment-to-training lifecycle: do not invent a written test
Phase 1 — Online enrolment and branch-specific application
NATS opens the window 28 October 2026. Candidate is responsible for correct registration, employer selection and completing the diploma marks percentage, not merely uploading a résumé. The application closes 28 November 2026, at an hour not specified in the PDF. Incomplete, erroneous or late applications are liable to rejection, and the notice rules out further correspondence on such applications.
Phase 2 — Eligibility and percentage-led shortlisting by BOAT(SR)
BOAT(SR) prepares a shortlist from online data on the percentage secured in the basic prescribed diploma qualification, separately relevant to each of the three engineering disciplines. The advertisement does not provide a qualifying 60% threshold, category-wise rank cutoff, added interview scoring, marks-normalisation algorithm, decimal tie rule, or extra preference marks for a higher degree. It would therefore be wrong to publish a fabricated 100-mark written examination or a “minimum 70% guaranteed shortlist” claim. BOAT's shortlist is not proof of completed selection until originals have been verified.
Phase 3 — Shortlisted list and email intimation
The employer anticipates releasing the shortlist in the second week of December 2026; this is a week window, not a confirmed calendar day. Candidates should check the registered NATS email as well as NATS homepage bottom → Regional Events → BOAT (Southern Region) → Apprenticeship News. Not receiving an immediate email on the first day of that week should not be interpreted as a published rejection or a new notification.
Phase 4 — TNPDCL office certificate verification
The notice puts verification in the fourth week of December 2026 (tentative). Only candidates shortlisted/asked to attend need to use the individually published verification communication. Verify diploma and marks-percentage originals, recognised qualification and passing date, reserved-category proof, and the ward certificate/parent employee ID if applicable. The authority explicitly pays no TA/DA and provides no boarding or lodging expenses for verification. Do not assume a specific Chennai counter, verification time or interview venue from the corporate address; none is scheduled in this notice.
Phase 5 — Apprenticeship engagement and one-year training
Those accepted after verification receive the employer's joining and training instructions; exact start date is not announced in the PDF. The programme lasts one year and is subject to the Apprenticeship Act/rules and relevant physical standards. The circular does not announce an objective test, written exam, admit card, official exam syllabus, answer key, interview date, final merit-weighting rubric, or permanent recruitment result. Accordingly, no invented Exam/Admit Card/Answer Key/Cutoff subrecords should be created for this notice.
Phase 6 — Completion without guaranteed appointment
The expressly published no-employment-obligation clause applies at completion of training. Any later regular TNPDCL hiring must be separately officially advertised and cannot be presumed from the apprentice completion certificate.
🧰 What each stream can prepare for training — relevant context, NOT an official test syllabus
Electrical & Electronics (EEE), 455: engineering foundations such as three-phase supply, transformers, circuit protection, instrument reading, electrical safety, drawing conventions and maintenance records are reasonable editorial preparation topics given the organisation is a distribution utility. The actual apprentice duty allocation, substation work, field placement and on-site instruction have not been published; no claim is made that every apprentice will be posted to a particular feeder or receive a specified safety qualification.
Electronics & Communication (ECE), 35: reasonable background refreshers include electronics measurements, digital systems, communication links, sensing and basic equipment diagnostics. These do not create a mandatory microcontroller course or telecommunications examination; the notice has no ECE-specific skill test or fixed electronics project assignment. The applicant's academic route remains Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Computer Engineering / IT, 10 combined: a practical foundation could include computer networks, databases, technical documentation, cybersecurity hygiene and troubleshooting as editorial preparation. Do not claim the company has announced a coding test, Python syllabus, software-engineer designation or ten places separately for Computer Engineering and ten for IT. The only advertised collective count is ten.
❓ Answers to the questions that materially change eligibility
Do 2026 diploma pass-outs qualify? Only the May 2026 window is explicitly printed together with 2022–25. The source does not extend that to all months of 2026.
Can someone with B.Tech alone apply? Not under a diploma qualification substituted by a degree. The PDF expressly distinguishes the diploma apprenticeship from B.E./B.Tech and higher routes.
Is a candidate with a valid diploma but one year of employment eligible? The notice excludes candidates having one year or more experience; no qualification-date qualifier is printed for this exclusion.
I have done NAPS/NATS training already; will higher diploma marks help? No. The previous/current apprenticeship exclusion is a separate eligibility gate, not a low-score issue.
Does a PMIS internship count as an advantage? No; the notification explicitly treats specified PMIS internship training as an exclusion.
What if I have 59% diploma marks? No advertised minimum academic percentage is printed. Correctly enter the actual percentage; shortlisting is merit-based and no actual cutoff is announced. This does not guarantee a seat.
Does “ward quota 10%” mean 50 extra seats? No. It is up to 10% horizontal within the 500 advertised training places, not an additional 50 vacancies.
Can children of retired or outsourced electricity-board employees claim ward quota? No. The exemption is expressly limited to children of current regular/permanent employees of the five named companies.
Do ward applicants send Annexure-A to the company now? No. Apply on NATS as usual and carry Annexure-A and parent's ID at certificate verification.
Does EEE vacancy 455 mean ECE diploma is accepted for those seats? No. The notification provides separate branches; do not treat different discipline abbreviations as freely interchangeable.
Is there a written test/interview? Not announced. Published selection is diploma-percentage shortlisting followed by document verification.
What is the fee? Not specified in the original five pages; an invented ₹0 notification fee would be unsupported.
When will the shortlist release? Expected second week of December 2026, with no published specific date or hour.
Is certificate verification online? The circular says shortlisted candidates must attend at the TNPDCL office. Exact personal schedule will come later.
Will candidates receive TA/DA or lodging? No; the circular explicitly excludes both for certificate verification.
Will TNPDCL recruit apprentices as permanent employees afterward? No automatic right or employer obligation exists on completion.

Technician (Diploma) Apprentice — Computer Engineering / Information Technology
Original TNPDCL 2026–27 PDF p.1: regular full-time Diploma in Computer Engineering / Information Technology, granted by recognised State Technical Education Board/Council, university or Government-recognised equivalent institution. Candidate must hail from Tamil Nadu and have passed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or specifically May 2026. No minimum diploma academic percentage is specified, but official actual percentage entry in NATS is mandatory for merit screening (p.3). B.E./B.Tech and above are expressly not the advertised replacement qualification. Prior/current NATS2.0/NAPS apprenticeship, PMIS internship or one year or more work experience exclude eligibility (p.2).
Required: No · Description: Experience is not required or weighted as a published bonus. Original PDF p.2 explicitly disqualifies candidates with one year or more experience, prior/current NATS 2.0 or NAPS apprenticeship, and specified PMIS internship. The work-experience exclusion is not expressly limited to post-qualification service. Supply a truthful chronology if checked.
Description: Original PDF p.1: age governed by Apprenticeship Rules, with no numeric lower/upper age or notified reckoning date. Physical fitness standards per Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules 1992 as amended; no independent job-specific height/vision cutoff printed.
Technician (Diploma) Apprentice — Computer Engineering / Information Technology | 10 TNPDCL training places
Original notification identity: TNPDCL 2026–27 Technician (Diploma) Apprentices — Engineering, 5-page BOAT(SR) circular, p.1, discipline row 3. Seats: 10 of 500 (2%). Monthly stipend: ₹10,900 for one-year training, not regular government pay. Application: NATS 28 Oct–28 Nov 2026. Printed age rule: Apprenticeship Rules; no numeric cap given. Origin: Tamil Nadu.
A. The qualification that actually matches this exact row
The stream is Computer Engineering / Information Technology; a regular full-time diploma in the relevant engineering or technology branch must have been granted by a State Council/Board of Technical Education, university, or government-recognised equivalent institute as described on p.1. Its completion must fall in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or May 2026. The year/month must agree with genuine diploma records. A superficially similar course title should not be silently treated as the notified branch. This row prints “Computer Engineering/Information Technology” with ten places total. It is one combined discipline group and should be reported as a single post row in the recruitment data. Neither the advertisement nor BOAT’s selection paragraph adds separate software/programming rounds or a fixed system/network assignment.
The notice does not publish a 60% pass threshold for eligibility. The academic percentage nevertheless matters in selection, because BOAT(SR) constructs the shortlist from the basic diploma exam percentage. The p.3 instructions are unusually direct: enter the percentage shown on the Diploma Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Mark Sheet in the NATS “% of marks” field; otherwise the candidature will not be considered. The PDF's higher-qualification note specifically says B.E./B.Tech and above are not required for Diploma Apprentice selection: do not replace the diploma with a degree score or assume extra-degree bonus marks.
B. Experience is an exclusion, not a minimum qualification
TNPDCL's p.2 wording removes candidates who have previously undergone or currently undertake the specified NATS 2.0/NAPS apprenticeship, PMIS internship training, or who have one year or more experience. It does not say this disqualification begins only after the diploma date. No compulsory positive employment period exists for this post. Accurate declaration of previous employment and training is therefore as relevant as the diploma; a candidate cannot repair an explicit exclusion through high percentage, category certificate or claimed field skills.
C. Examples of branch-specific decisions
| Actual applicant circumstance | How to read the advertisement |
|---|---|
| Computer Engineering regular diploma 2023 | Within combined 10-seat Computer/IT listing |
| Information Technology regular diploma 2025 | Within same combined 10-seat listing |
| Computer Science B.E. without diploma | Higher-degree route cannot stand in for the notified diploma |
| Computer diploma with 12 months work experience | Explicit one-year experience exclusion applies |
These are examples, not company-issued approvals. The correct outcome for a qualification-equivalence dispute belongs to TNPDCL/BOAT(SR).
D. What the training may help you prepare for — NOT an employer-issued duty syllabus
The title denotes apprenticeship training in the computing and information technology foundation category. A candidate can refresh concepts such as computer networks, databases, safe system administration, software fundamentals, incident documentation, basic data integrity, technical user support and cybersecurity hygiene to be technically prepared. Those are editorial suggestions only: the five-page notification provides no branch-specific day-to-day job description, no worksite/substation/office placement guarantee and no published test syllabus. In particular, not 10 Computer Engineering plus 10 IT seats, and not a software engineer recruitment with an announced coding assessment. Avoid mentioning a mandatory machine/software certificate that the original PDF never asks for.
E. NATS submission instructions and the decisive percentage field
Use https://nats.education.gov.in/ → Student. Old NATS registrants migrate/reset login from the former mhrdnats.gov.in account. Existing new NATS users log in directly. First-time users complete Student Register and receive a 12-digit ATN enrolment number. All three routes must subsequently search TAMIL NADU POWER DISTRIBUTION CORPORATION LIMITED (TNPDCL) in “Apply against advertised vacancies”, click Apply and verify applied status. An NATS profile alone does not count as an employer-specific application. Carry the diploma percentage from the actual provisional certificate or consolidated marksheet into NATS. Deadline 28 November 2026, exact closing time Not specified.
Prepare recognised diploma/branch/passout proof; marks sheet with percentage; appropriate Tamil Nadu origin record; category documents in government-prescribed form where claiming reservation; and a truthful training/employment history. For ward applicants, page 5's Annexure-A must include the currently regular/permanent electricity-company employee's particulars, the candidate's ATN ID, officer signature/office seal and parent ID-card copy. It is to be produced at the verification stage, not emailed or posted separately to BOAT/TNPDCL.
F. Ward quota, merit scrutiny and real selection stages
The current regular/permanent employee's ward concession is up to 10% horizontally across the published recruitment, not an extra seat pool; it does not extend to temporary, casual, contract or retired parents. Independently, SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD reservation follows the notified applicable rules with prescribed certificates; no numerical roster is printed for this 10-seat row. BOAT(SR) uses the diploma percentage for the shortlist. The shortlist is expected in second week of December 2026; shortlisted students are informed at their NATS registered email and the BOAT Southern Region Apprenticeship News page. Certificate verification at TNPDCL office is tentatively fourth week of December. No CBT, interview marks, exam syllabus, age-specific numerical cutoff or guaranteed rank is published.
G. Real money, transport and the final employment boundary
The published stipend is ₹10,900 per month for one year. It is not a pay-matrix post and the notice specifies no branch differential or additional allowance. BOAT/TNPDCL do not reimburse TA/DA, boarding or lodging for attending certificate verification. After finishing the training, the employer expressly has no duty to provide regular employment, and the apprentice cannot claim an appointment merely on completion. Treat the programme as a diploma-to-industry training placement, not permanent TNPDCL recruitment.

Technician (Diploma) Apprentice — Electronics and Communication Engineering | 35 TNPDCL training places
Original notification identity: TNPDCL 2026–27 Technician (Diploma) Apprentices — Engineering, 5-page BOAT(SR) circular, p.1, discipline row 2. Seats: 35 of 500 (7%).
The stream is Electronics and Communication Engineering; a regular full-time diploma in the relevant engineering or technology branch must have been granted by a State Council/Board of Technical Education, university, or government-recognised equivalent institute as described on p.1. Its completion must fall in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or May 2026. The year/month must agree with genuine diploma records. A superficially similar course title should not be silently treated as the notified branch. The ECE row is a separate 35-seat pool. EEE’s 455-seat figure does not increase the 35 ECE positions, and IT’s ten seats are not available to every diploma that has studied basic networking. The diploma marks used for shortlisting relate to the prescribed qualifying diploma; a high score in a later degree is not published as a replacement.
|---|---|
| ECE regular diploma awarded May 2026 | Matches the named branch and narrow 2026 passout window |
| Electronics & Instrumentation diploma | Not explicitly named ECE; confirm formal equivalence rather than guessing |
| ECE diploma awarded September 2026 | Outside the expressly stated May-2026 entry |
| ECE diploma and completed NATS apprenticeship | Ineligible despite matching branch and high diploma score |
These are examples, not company-issued approvals. The correct outcome for a qualification-equivalence dispute belongs to TNPDCL/BOAT(SR).
D. What the training may help you prepare for — NOT an employer-issued duty syllabus
The title denotes apprenticeship training in the electronics and communication systems foundation category. A candidate can refresh concepts such as analog/digital electronics, measurement, communication fundamentals, sensors, fault tracing, reading schematic diagrams and safe test-bench practice to be technically prepared. Those are editorial suggestions only: the five-page notification provides no branch-specific day-to-day job description, no worksite/substation/office placement guarantee and no published test syllabus. In particular, not an announced ECE coding/telecom written examination or a commitment to a particular communications system or location.
Independently, SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD reservation follows the notified applicable rules with prescribed certificates; no numerical roster is printed for this 35-seat row.

A superficially similar course title should not be silently treated as the notified branch. Page 1 assigns 455 seats explicitly to Electrical and Electronics, rather than combining them with Electronics and Communication. The named engineering branch matters more than the fact both abbreviations contain “electronics”. A candidate must check the actual printed diploma title, not rely on the reputation of the institute or a broad electrical-family label.
The notice does not publish a 60% pass threshold for eligibility. | Actual applicant circumstance | How to read the advertisement |

| EEE diploma with one year of paid work | Ineligible under the original one-year experience exclusion |
These are examples, not company-issued approvals. The correct outcome for a qualification-equivalence dispute belongs to TNPDCL/BOAT(SR).
D. What the training may help you prepare for — NOT an employer-issued duty syllabus
