Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued Advertisement No. 12/2026 for direct recruitment by selection to 13 permanent Group A and Group B posts in Central Government and Government of NCT of Delhi organisations. The recruitment covers one Junior Technical Officer (Sugar Technology) vacancy at National Sugar Institute, Kanpur; eight Assistant Legislative Counsel vacancies in the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice; three Law Officer vacancies in the Land and Building Department, Government of NCT of Delhi; and one Specialist Grade II (Junior Scale) - Cardiology vacancy in New Delhi Municipal Council.
The overall category-wise vertical vacancy breakup is UR 6, EWS 1, OBC 5 and SC 1, giving a total of 13 vacancies. Qualifications and experience differ substantially by post. Junior Technical Officer requires a Science or Engineering degree together with the prescribed Sugar Technology associateship/post-graduate diploma and three years of relevant experience. Assistant Legislative Counsel requires a Law degree plus one of the specified judicial-service, government legal-affairs, Law teaching/research or legal-practice pathways. Law Officer requires a Law degree and two years of legal work. Specialist Grade II Cardiology requires a recognized medical qualification, D.M. (Cardiology) or equivalent post-graduate qualification, and three years' experience in the specialty after the post-graduate degree.
The application fee is ₹25 for candidates who are not exempt. Women, SC, ST and PwBD candidates are exempt from payment. OBC, EWS and Unreserved male candidates must pay the prescribed fee. UPSC may shortlist candidates using desirable qualifications, higher qualifications, relevant experience or a Recruitment Test. Selection may be by interview alone or by Recruitment Test followed by interview, depending on the Commission's decision for the recruitment case.
