The Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), under the administrative control of the Department of Food and Public Distribution, has invited applications for one Under Secretary (Technical) vacancy. The post carries Pay Matrix Level 11, Rs.67,700-2,08,700. The vacancy circular is dated 29 September 2026 and applications must reach WDRA by 12 November 2026.

1) THIS IS NOT A FRESHER OR OPEN-MARKET GRADUATE VACANCY The deputation eligibility first restricts the applicant pool to officers serving in the Central or State Government, Central/State Public Sector Undertakings, or Autonomous/Statutory bodies. 2) THERE ARE TWO ALTERNATIVE SERVICE ROUTES — FIVE YEARS IS NOT UNIVERSAL An eligible officer must either hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department, OR have five years of regular service in the prescribed feeder grade, currently corresponding to Level 10 (Rs.56,100-1,77,500) or equivalent; the vacancy circular also expresses the pre-revised equivalent as PB-3 Rs.15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay Rs.5,400. This distinction matters: an officer already holding an analogous regular post does not need an artificial extra five-year minimum inserted into the data.

3) THE DEGREE REQUIREMENT APPLIES IN ADDITION TO THE SERVICE ROUTE The applicant must possess a degree in any Biological Sciences, including Agriculture, from a Government-recognised University. A generic degree in an unrelated discipline does not satisfy the technical qualification merely because some job portals shorten the qualification to 'Any Graduate'.

4) AGE 56 BELONGS TO THE DEPUTATION VACANCY — DO NOT CONFUSE IT WITH WDRA'S DIRECT-RECRUITMENT RULE The maximum age for this deputation vacancy is 56 years on the closing date, 12 November 2026. WDRA's service regulations separately show a lower direct-recruitment age for this post, but that direct route must not be mixed into the present deputation vacancy.

5) PROPER-CHANNEL FORWARDING IS A MATERIAL APPLICATION CONDITION The reported vacancy circular requires the prescribed Bio-Data/CV to move through the proper channel. The service dossier includes attested CR/APAR records for the preceding five years, vigilance clearance, integrity certification, disciplinary-status certification, and major/minor penalty information for the preceding ten years. An advance copy does not replace proper forwarding by the parent organisation; reported circular instructions allow the properly forwarded copy to follow within the stated post-closing window.

6) INITIAL DEPUTATION TENURE IS THREE YEARS The vacancy-circular reporting states an initial three-year deputation period, subject to the applicable rules. This makes the post structurally different from a normal permanent direct-recruitment vacancy even though the pay level is a regular Central Government pay-matrix level.

7) WHY THE TECHNICAL BACKGROUND MATTERS WDRA regulates warehousing and the negotiable/electronic warehouse-receipt ecosystem.
