Odisha Livelihoods Mission
OLM Computer Based Test 2026 — verified pattern, selection and position-wise preparation
Common selection for 57 advertised position rows; 1,115 contractual seats. The Odisha Livelihoods Mission advertises a single, English-only CBT of 100 MCQs/100 marks in 90 minutes. All questions have four choices. Correct +1, wrong −0.33, unattempted 0. Eligible PwD candidates receive 30 additional minutes, making 120 minutes. These facts are printed on page 26 of the original advertisement and apply across the State, District and Block recruitment rows.
🧭 First distinguish the genuine syllabus from preparation guidance
The original paper identifies two broad components: Common Syllabus and domain-specific syllabus. It tells applicants to consult a “Syllabus Appendix”, but the 34 pages supplied here contain no such appended list of topics. The advertisement does not identify the number of MCQs from each part, section-wise marks, any sectionwise qualifying threshold, a full topic list or a separate domain paper. These unknown quantities are not official facts and have not been filled in.

The common portion — preparation, not a published chapter list
Because the detailed appendix is absent from the supplied PDF, applicants should initially practise reading and interpreting English-language questions, basic quantitative reasoning, evidence interpretation, accuracy in multiple-choice decision-making and foundational understanding of the programme's institutional setting as useful preparation only. The recruitment authority has not specified that any one of these topics carries a fixed number of questions. Do not rely on unofficial websites assigning 20 marks to particular subjects.
Domain preparation organised by genuinely advertised role families
The following subjects are inferred from the actual named positions and minimum academic qualifications in pages 2–23. They help organise study while waiting for an authentic positionwise appendix; they are not presented as an OLM-announced official syllabus.
State Project Managers and Additional State Project Managers
Suggested preparatory emphasis: Programme management, discipline-specific rural-livelihood approaches and relevant leadership experience; prepare from the degree subjects expressly listed for the relevant one of rows 1–27. Review exactly which subjects your chosen position permits; two jobs with matching pay can have completely different acceptable degrees.
State Mission Executive — MIS, IT and knowledge
Suggested preparatory emphasis: Data management, statistical reasoning, reporting concepts, information systems, communication and technical degree foundations for the selected executive row. Review exactly which subjects your chosen position permits; two jobs with matching pay can have completely different acceptable degrees.
State Mission Executive — veterinary, fisheries and farm
Suggested preparatory emphasis: Veterinary or fisheries degree fundamentals, field livelihood contexts and agriculture-related programme practice for the specific row. Review exactly which subjects your chosen position permits; two jobs with matching pay can have completely different acceptable degrees.
State and District — financial inclusion, audit, accounts
Suggested preparatory emphasis: Accounting and finance degree principles, bank linkage, financial inclusion and the qualification route specifically named for the particular financial position. Review exactly which subjects your chosen position permits; two jobs with matching pay can have completely different acceptable degrees.
District and Block — rural institution, livelihood and value chain
Suggested preparatory emphasis: Rural-development and social-work fundamentals, producer institutions, field-level income activity and market or institution building in the post title. Review exactly which subjects your chosen position permits; two jobs with matching pay can have completely different acceptable degrees.
Accountant-cum-MIS Assistant and Program Assistant
Suggested preparatory emphasis: B.com plus the notified computer/pgdca or it path, information records and basic accounting or office data-entry accuracy, as consistent with the actual position. Review exactly which subjects your chosen position permits; two jobs with matching pay can have completely different acceptable degrees.
Question accuracy and a transparent scoring example
If a candidate answers 75 questions correctly, 15 incorrectly and leaves 10 blank, the published marking rules yield 75 − (15 × 0.33) = 70.05 marks. This is only a calculation demonstration; it is not a predicted selection cutoff. Candidates should guard against reckless guessing because wrong choices reduce the score. No minimum passing marks or predicted merit cutoff is printed in this notice.
Normalisation matters for several shifts
Page 25 of the advertisement prints an equi-percentile normalisation scheme with interpolation between neighbouring raw scores when a percentile has no exact match in the designated base shift. The base shift is chosen by proximity of mean raw score to the median with reference to standard deviation. Equivalent scores are reported to seven decimal places to reduce tied results. Candidates must distinguish their pre-normalisation raw result from the score that OLM uses for inter-shift merit.
E-admit card and on-the-day identity checks
The official departmental site will release the candidate's examination date, shift, city and venue on the e-admit card. These have not been scheduled by the current 34-page notice. Download and print it and bring the original government photo identification required by the instructions; biometric identity checks are prescribed. No separately posted admit card is promised. OLM has announced a website-hosted mock-CBT link to familiarise applicants with the interface before the test, but the present notice does not provide an actual operational mock-link address.
For eligible scribes, the online application must contain the scribe's full identity details, government photo ID, academic qualification and signed undertaking. The scribe is required to be academically one step below the candidate and cannot have the prohibited same subject. Compensatory time is 20 minutes per hour, aligning with the 30 extra minutes for 90-minute CBT. Late requests or inconsistent identity can prevent examination entry.
Exam-to-appointment lifecycle — what is real at present
- CBT: 100 one-mark English questions; negative marking as above. The date, venue and shift are still unannounced.
- Provisional merit list: based on the prescribed examination assessment; not itself an appointment.
- Original-document verification: OLM calls three times the vacancy per advertised position. Be ready to prove class-10/HSC DOB, degree, minimum relevant work experience, Odia qualification, and relevant category/SEBC by-birth evidence.
- Final merit: normalized CBT score and successful eligibility/document verification. Ties break by senior age and then alphabetically by names.
- Conditional contract: an initial one-year engagement with renewal dependent on performance and project requirements, not regularisation.
The initial notification says a provisional answer key and objection window will follow the exam, with a final key after valid objections. It gives no objection opening/closing dates, nor a fee for objections; those cannot be stated now. No e-admit card, answer key, final result or cutoff has actually been published by this initial advertisement. There is no interview or group discussion, so preparation for an imagined panel or GD contributes no marks to the published selection method.
Preparing documents early prevents merit-stage rejection
The authority insists on an Odia subject/exam qualification, a correctly dated SEBC certificate (within three years of closing date, not generic central OBC certificate) where relevant, and actual relevant post-qualification experience. Degree equivalence must have its competent rule/authority, number and date. Relevant PwD papers must certify at least 40% disability where relying on that provision. Take the actual post chosen, not a similar title, as the test of eligibility. No extra marks for generic higher qualifications or unrelated experience are provided.
