AIIMS Bilaspur has advertised 69 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) vacancies through its 10 October 2026 notice, divided into 47 broad-specialty and 22 super-specialty seats, across 34 named departments. The in-person interview is on Tuesday, 27 October 2026. Applicants should report at 09:00 AM on 27 October to the Recruitment Cell, third floor of the Administrative Block, AIIMS Bilaspur. The notice additionally states that candidates arriving after 10:00 AM will not be allowed; do not treat 10:00 AM as an invitation to report late. The selection clause explicitly states no online application form is required. Bring the completed original application form and Annexure-II checklist. This is a specialist medical residency recruitment, not a general MBBS-only fresher vacancy. The official fee has to be paid separately where applicable. The advertisement lists both medical and a narrowly specified non-medical route for Anatomy and Biochemistry; their pay differs. Source: official eight-page PDF, pp. 1–6.
The seat matrix is substantial but uneven. Anaesthesia alone has 11 positions, Radiodiagnosis/Radiology has 5, General Medicine, General Surgery, and Trauma & Emergency have 4 each. At the opposite extreme many departments have exactly one reserved-category vacancy; matching a specialty to an open category is essential. The scanned matrix is reproduced below with the official ordering of UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS. PwBD is a horizontal reservation provision, not 4% added on top of 69.

The broad-specialty 47 posts split into UR 10, OBC 17, SC 7, ST 4, EWS 9. The super-specialty 22 posts split into UR 9, OBC 5, SC 4, ST 2, EWS 2. Overall: UR 19, OBC 22, SC 11, ST 6, EWS 11 = 69. This is an arithmetic reading of the institute’s vacancy table, not an independent reservation policy. The notice expressly says unfilled EWS seats can be filled under UR. It also states that an eligible unreserved applicant may be considered against another reserved seat only if a reserved candidate is unavailable, but such appointment is limited to 44 days. Do not confuse this short fallback engagement with the usual SR tenure. The institute reserves the right to alter vacancies. Both reserved category certificates and claimed age relaxation are checked during document verification.
The general medical route requires a recognised medical qualification, Central/State Medical Council registration and an MD/MS/DNB in the concerned specialty or expressly accepted feeder specialty. The PDF gives specific feeder degrees for certain super-specialties: Cardiology, Medical Oncology and Nephrology accept MD/DNB General Medicine; Burns & Plastic Surgery, CTVS, Neurosurgery, Paediatric Surgery, Surgical Oncology and Urology accept MS/DNB General Surgery; Neonatology accepts MD/DNB Paediatrics; Pulmonary Medicine accepts MD/DNB General Medicine or Pulmonary Medicine. Trauma & Emergency lists multiple medical or surgical postgraduate routes including allied subjects and Orthopaedics—individual equivalence must be checked. Other departments follow a relevant postgraduate specialty requirement rather than a universal transferable MD/MS. A valid final qualification/pass certificate is required by the relevant eligibility cut-off. Do not assume candidates awaiting completion are eligible.
The vacancy matrix has seats for Anatomy (one OBC) and Biochemistry (one OBC). Their specific qualifications allow MD/DNB in that subject (medical) OR MSc/M.Biotech in the concerned subject together with a PhD in that subject/allied discipline (non-medical). MSc alone is not sufficient on that non-medical path. The same eligibility annexure mentions Pharmacology, Clinical Immunology and Endocrinology, but the current vacancy table does not list seats for those departments; they must not be invented as extra available vacancies. Medical SR pay is Level-11 with ₹67,700 entry basic plus admissible allowances and NPA; non-medical MSc+PhD SR is Level-10 with ₹56,100 entry basic, allowances but no NPA. Neither entry figure is a guaranteed gross or in-hand salary.
The notified upper age limit is 45 years. The wording says the age cut-off is the last date for online application, but another section unambiguously states there is no online form and only a 27 October walk-in. This internal inconsistency should be clarified with the Recruitment Cell rather than silently treating an imagined online closing date as an official cut-off. Category relaxations follow Government of India orders, with no reliable advertisement-specific numerical values; category-based age relaxation is not available to applicants seeking an UR seat. The maximum overall period of Senior Residency, including past SR service at AIIMS Bilaspur or other institutes, must not exceed three years. The notice requires OBC-NCL issued on or after 1 April 2026; its EWS paragraph mixes an older date/FY phrase with a current FY 2026–27 condition, so request confirmation of acceptable EWS certificate. PwBD horizontal reservation applies to identified non-surgical posts, subject to the source eligibility table and suitability.
Two timing rules in the actual walk-in notice
The timetable on page 8 specifies 09:00 AM reporting, followed by an explicit bar on candidates reporting after 10:00 AM. The selection procedure on page 5 independently instructs candidates to report on or before 09:00 AM. Treat 09:00 AM as the required reporting time; the later exclusion sentence is not an extension of the requested reporting time. There is no online form or online test date for this notice.
Certificate-date and payment-wording cautions
For OBC-NCL, the notification states that only certificates issued on or after 1 April 2026 will be treated as valid for this 2026-27 advertisement. The EWS section is internally inconsistent: it mentions a certificate issue date on or after 1 April 2025, then explicitly says a central-government employment EWS certificate for 2026-27 issued on or after 1 April 2026 will be considered valid. Applicants should check the accepted certificate format/year directly with the institute before travel. The fee section also retains a reference to 'upload' payment proof, even though the selection instructions explicitly require no online form. Bring the original evidence of NEFT payment for non-exempt categories; do not invent an upload portal.
Notified disciplines versus mere qualification examples
The vacancy matrices advertise 34 department profiles, not 36. The PDF discusses eligibility for Clinical Immunology and Endocrinology on its qualification page, but neither appears as a vacant department in the October vacancy tables. They therefore have no October post record in this JSON.
On 27 October 2026 at or before 09:00 AM, report physically to Recruitment Cell, third floor, Administrative Block, AIIMS Bilaspur (Kothipura/Changar Palasiyan). Fill and sign the original application form and Annexure-II checklist. Bring original and one self-attested copy set of MBBS, internship, MD/MS/DNB or MSc/PhD as relevant; Central/State Medical Council registration if medical; marksheets, age proof, category/PwBD certificates, professional experience, publications and other supporting evidence. The notice specifically prohibits an online interview. Applicants employed by a Central/State Government, semi-government or autonomous institution must bring original employer NOC explicitly permitting them to join if selected; without it, interview permission is not granted. The application charge is ₹1,000 + 18% GST = ₹1,180 for categories not exempt; SC, ST and PwBD are exempt. The notice prescribes NEFT to an institute recruitment account, and bank-remittance proof at interview, but also contains residual wording about uploading proof even though it says no online form. Confirm that procedural inconsistency with the helpdesk before paying; never substitute an unofficial payment link.
After walk-in reporting, original-document scrutiny and possible shortlisting precede an in-person interview. The institute may verify eligibility, qualification, category, fee and NOC before allowing an applicant to appear. The offer is provisional until credentials are checked. A waiting list may be operated if selected candidates do not join or resign. There is no officially announced written/CBT syllabus, competitive examination, admit card, answer-key/objection schedule, category-wise qualifying marks, merit result date or interview score formula for this walk-in notice. Accordingly those lifecycle arrays are deliberately empty; a recruitment interview is not represented as an exam admit-card event. Watch the official SR recruitment listing for any corrigendum, shortlisted candidates or final result.
The normal non-academic Senior Residency tenure can be up to three years including previously completed SR time. The institute prohibits private medical practice, may require shifts and posting anywhere within the institute, and follows Government of India Residency Scheme provisions. The notice allows termination by notice/pay in the terms provided, and an institute-maintained waiting list. It also explains a special 44-day engagement for a UR candidate considered in certain unfilled reserved-category circumstances. Thus an advertised “SR vacancy” is not a blanket three-year guarantee for every possible appointment. Regular recruitment, permanent absorption and a pre-announced exam are not stated in this notice.
After selection: Any appointment offer is provisional and subject to original credential verification and medical fitness declared by the competent Medical Board. An institute waitlist may be used if selected candidates decline to join or resign. Employment follows the Government of India Residency Scheme; the notice permits termination by either side with one month's notice or one month's salary. Working in shifts is possible and private practice is prohibited. No travelling allowance is payable for attending interview or joining. These are service conditions, not a published examination syllabus or a guaranteed result date.
A candidate should first match the exact specialty or notified feeder postgraduate qualification and a vacancy in the correct vertical category; second check available cumulative SR tenure and the 45-year age criterion; third collect the correct FY OBC/EWS/PwBD certificates; fourth arrange the original NOC if already serving; fifth review the fee exemption and NEFT instructions; sixth arrive on time with form, Annexure-II and originals. The official PDF is a scan, so follow its printed original and any corrigendum. Internal phrases about online upload/cut-off must not override the explicit no online form instruction without fresh official clarification. The site’s listed end date reflects the interview date, not a separate online registration deadline.
Official application-form link, with a caution: The institute’s October row links this Senior Resident application form, whose file is hosted in its August 2026 uploads directory. The form contains reusable general instructions, including references to posting forms or possible written tests; these must not override the specific 10 October walk-in notice, which explicitly requires no online form and reporting in person by 09:00 AM on 27 October. Bring a fully completed signed hard-copy form and Annexure-II checklist and confirm any newer revised form/corrigendum on the recruitment listing.
