IndianOil Pipelines Division Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — 500 Training Seats across Five Pipeline Regions
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Pipelines Division) | Advertisement PL/HR/ESTB/APPR (2026) | Issued 6 November 2026
IndianOil has announced 500 tentative apprenticeship TRAINING seats across its Eastern, Western, Northern, Southern and South Eastern Region Pipelines establishments. This is a 12-month training engagement under the Apprentices Act, 1961, not recruitment to a regular permanent IndianOil pay-scale job. The notified opening spans 6 November to 5 December 2026; however, the qualification and age reference date is 30 November 2026, five days before applications close. Someone receiving the necessary degree/diploma result in early December is not eligible simply because the registration window is still open.
The decisive distinction: the seven-page notification gives the number of training seats by pipeline region and state, while separately listing seven trades and their qualifications. It never states how many Mechanical, Electrical, HR, Accountant or DEO seats exist in each state. The state numbers below are therefore combined apprenticeship opportunity pools, not seven separate copies of the same seats. Check the actual trade-specific opening inside the appropriate NATS/NAPS establishment before applying.
The selection is based on the percentage in the essential qualifying examination, followed by original-document and medical-fitness checks. There is NO written examination, CBT, practical test or personal interview under this advertisement. The notification does not issue an exam paper, syllabus, admit-card schedule or subject-wise marks allocation. Applicants should concentrate on correct eligibility, a properly selected trade, official portals and verifiable academic aggregate rather than preparing for a nonexistent competitive test.

📊 The actual 500 seats: five regional totals
🥧 How IndianOil's 500 pipeline apprentice seats are distributed by region
| Official pipeline region | Tentative seats |
|---|---|
| Eastern Region Pipelines (ERPL) | 116 |
| Western Region Pipelines (WRPL) | 149 |
| Northern Region Pipelines (NRPL) | 110 |
| Southern Region Pipelines (SRPL) | 46 |
| South Eastern Region Pipelines (SERPL) | 79 |
Total: 116 + 149 + 110 + 46 + 79 = 500. This is a location-based tally, not a subject-wise merit ranking or trade-level roster.
The larger individual state-region pools
📊 Largest notified state-and-pipeline-region seat pools
| State / pipeline region | Tentative seats |
|---|---|
| Gujarat — WRPL | 83 |
| Odisha — SERPL | 49 |
| Rajasthan — WRPL | 48 |
| West Bengal — ERPL | 45 |
| Tamil Nadu — SRPL | 38 |
| Uttar Pradesh — NRPL | 32 |
| Uttar Pradesh — ERPL | 30 |
| Haryana — NRPL | 29 |
The leading Gujarat pool of 83 is not a claim that 83 Mechanical places exist there. Likewise, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh each appear in two different pipeline regions. Such entries use separate regional establishment numbers and have different listed training stations. A statewide search that merges them into one advertised trade would conceal the application choice.

The spelling Jassisdih is retained as it appears in the advertisement. The notification provides state-region seat totals, not station-wise seats; the candidate will later give location preferences where applicable. An applicant has no published assurance of one place in the list or of the availability of every trade at every station.
🎓 Which of the seven actual trades matches your credential?
| Advertised trade | Essential qualifying route | Application registration |
|---|---|---|
| Technician Apprentice (Mechanical) | Three-year regular full-time Engineering Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering (eligible lateral-entry Diploma accepted). | NATS |
| Technician Apprentice (Electrical) | Three-year regular full-time Engineering Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (eligible lateral entry accepted). | NATS |
| Technician Apprentice (Telecommunication & Instrumentation) | Three-year regular full-time Engineering Diploma in Electronics & Communication; Electronics & Telecommunication; Electronics & Radio Communication; Instrumentation & Control; Instrumentation & Process Control; or Electronics Engineering (eligible lateral entry accepted). | NATS |
| Trade Apprentice (Assistant-Human Resource) | Regular full-time Bachelor degree (graduation) in any discipline from a Government-recognised institution/university; the higher-professional-qualification exclusion still applies. | NATS |
| Trade Apprentice (Accountant) | Regular full-time Bachelor degree in Commerce from a Government-recognised institution/university; a non-Commerce Bachelor degree is not the advertised route. | NATS |
| Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices) | At least Class 12 passed but NOT a Graduate; no separate domestic data-entry skill certificate is prescribed for this fresher route. | NAPS |
| Domestic Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders) | Class 12 passed but NOT a Graduate, PLUS Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate for a course shorter than one year from an NSQF/Central Government-recognised awarding body. | NAPS |
1) Diploma is not a generic engineering pass
The Mechanical route accepts Mechanical or Automobile Engineering diplomas. The Electrical route accepts Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering diplomas. The Telecommunication & Instrumentation route specifies six branches: Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Radio Communication, Instrumentation & Control, Instrumentation & Process Control, and Electronics Engineering. Other similarly named branches are not automatically declared equivalent. Eligible second-year lateral-entry entrants from Class XII Science/ITI are accepted when the stipulated full-time diploma rules are met.
For the recognised full-time Diploma and Bachelor-degree routes, at least 50% aggregate is required; the threshold is 45% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants considered against reserved positions under the notified concession. The calculation uses the aggregate across all years/semesters in the essential qualifying examination, not merely a favourite final-year result. Distance, correspondence and part-time qualification routes do not qualify.
2) HR versus Accountant is a real academic distinction
For Assistant–Human Resource, a recognised regular full-time Bachelor degree is accepted without restricting the undergraduate major in the trade table. For Accountant, the Bachelor degree must be in Commerce. A BA or BSc candidate should not assume the Accountant trade accepts all graduation subjects simply because HR does. Both are NATS routes, not the NAPS data-entry route.
3) The two 12th-pass Data Entry routes are not interchangeable
The DEO Fresher route requires Class XII passed but below Graduate. The Domestic Data Entry Operator route requires the same below-graduate Class XII status plus a specifically titled Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate, from an NSQF/Central Government-recognised authority, for training of less than one year. A generic computer certificate, PGDCA, BCA or unspecified typing course is not automatically the stated certificate. A degree-holder cannot use a lower 12th certificate to evade the below Graduate rule. These two trades register through NAPS.
The PDF does not announce a specific minimum percentage for Class-XII DEO eligibility, even though it applies the 50/45% aggregate rule expressly to Degree/Diploma courses. Do not transfer the Degree/Diploma threshold to 12th DEO without an additional authority instruction.
🚫 The eligibility traps most likely to invalidate an otherwise strong candidate
- Results must already exist by 30 November 2026. A result awaited on that date disqualifies the applicant, despite the 5 December application closing date.
- Earlier apprenticeship training or an ongoing apprenticeship disqualifies. This notice does not grant the second-apprenticeship exception that may appear in a different IndianOil refinery advertisement.
- One year or more of post-qualification job experience/training is an exclusion. The notice explicitly states this; do not confuse it with a desirable experience advantage.
- Five years completed since acquiring the required qualification, measured on 30 November 2026, makes the applicant ineligible. The cutoff is about how long ago the relevant credential was acquired, not about age alone.
- Higher professional qualifications are excluded. The notice expressly names BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA and comparable higher professional courses, including certain candidates pursuing a higher qualification and completing it before training joining. An applicant with Diploma + B.Tech cannot assume the earlier Diploma overrides this bar.
- Only one Trade Code may be selected. Submitting more than one code causes summary rejection; neither the seven-trade list nor the state-region seat register is permission to apply to every entry.
What actually counts for merit
For each advertised opportunity, all subjects of all years/semesters in the qualifying Degree/Diploma/12th examination, as applicable, contribute to the aggregate percentage. There is no separate testing bonus, no interview component, and no special postgraduate/experience weightage. The official order for a percentage tie is: earlier date of birth (older applicant), then—if the date of birth is also the same—higher Matriculation percentage. The notice does not publish a guaranteed minimum selection score or category-wise final cutoff.
For CGPA/OGPA/letter-grade holders, the university or board conversion method and certificate are crucial. Enter the certified equivalent percentage on the opportunity application and keep its official proof for DV. When the university/board has no conversion formula, obtain its certificate affirming that fact; the notice gives a specific alternative based on averaged grade scores. A self-invented CGPA × 9.5 rule may be rejected if it is not your own institution's method. Letter grades require a certificate giving the corresponding percentage.
🎂 Age, relaxation and the document that proves it
The ordinary age range is 18–24 years on 30 November 2026. The age benefit, where applicable, is up to five years for SC/ST, three years for OBC-NCL considered against reserved seats, and 10 years for eligible PwBD, with an additional five years for PwBD-SC/ST or three years for PwBD-OBC-NCL as stated. These are conditional benefits and do not mean every category holder may claim a concession for an unreserved opportunity. OBC-NCL must be on the Central List for the relevant state and the candidate must have a valid non-creamy-layer certificate on the cutoff date.
The original Class X Board-issued certificate/marksheet is the only proof accepted for date of birth at DV. An Aadhaar date-of-birth entry alone is not a substitute. The OBC-NCL certificate must be in the Central Government prescribed format and not more than 12 months old as measured on 30 November 2026. Candidates claiming reservation must match the relevant official certificate conditions.
♿ The seven trades have different suitable PwBD categories
The specified suitability is not a universal 'all disabilities' statement. Technician Mechanical/Electrical/T&I identifies leprosy-cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and prescribed multiple disabilities among them. Accountant identifies hard of hearing and specific one-leg/both-legs musculoskeletal conditions plus listed conditions. Assistant-HR additionally identifies low vision and one-arm/one-leg/both-legs/one-arm-and-one-leg musculoskeletal conditions under the stated combinations. Both DEO variants identify hard of hearing and specific lower-limb musculoskeletal conditions, leprosy-cured, dwarfism and acid-attack victims, with the defined multiple-disability combinations. The notice speaks of at least 40% benchmark disability and prescribed certificate Forms V/VI/VII; eligibility remains subject to the actual notified disability category and the corporation's pre-engagement fitness standard.
📝 Two portal applications, in the right order
Step I — apply against an actual opening at the apprenticeship portal. The three Technician Diploma disciplines and the HR/Accountant graduation trades use NATS; the two Data Entry routes use NAPS. Register in the appropriate trade and state and apply for the particular IndianOil Pipelines establishment opportunity—merely creating a student profile is insufficient.
| Pipeline region | NATS Establishment ID | NAPS Establishment ID |
|---|---|---|
| Eastern Region Pipelines (ERPL) | EWBKOC000079 | E11181900005 |
| Western Region Pipelines (WRPL) | WGJRAC000006 | E11182400087 |
| Northern Region Pipelines (NRPL) | NHRPPC000001 | E12180600006 |
| Southern Region Pipelines (SRPL) | STNCHC000040 | E12183300008 |
| South Eastern Region Pipelines (SERPL) | EORBBSC000001 | E02252100002 |
Step II — complete the separate IndianOil Pipelines registration. After the opportunity application succeeds, register again at IndianOil Pipelines apprentice portal. Part I collects basic personal/category information and issues a separate IndianOil registration number. Use it to log in and complete Part II with your academic details, supporting declarations, a colour JPG photograph of 20–50 KB and a black-ink JPG signature of 10–30 KB, then submit the final application. Keep the same email address and mobile number as on NATS/NAPS and save the printed application. The NATS/NAPS enrolment number is required on this second portal. Both stages must be completed from 6 November through 5 December 2026; the notice does not state a precise final clock time.
Unlike a single-portal process, filling only the Pipelines form or filling only NATS/NAPS is insufficient. A registration without applying to the correct opportunity also fails the notified method. A candidate should first check the actual regional establishment and trade code, not assume that all seven trades have a guaranteed opening at all named stations.
📋 Genuine selection and later notices — not an imaginary exam
| Actual recruitment stage | Official treatment |
|---|---|
| Essential qualification and online opportunity screening | Eligibility on the 30 Nov 2026 cutoff, accurate trade/region, complete portal submissions |
| Panel-cum-Merit List | Marks percentage in prescribed qualifying examination, descending order; tie: older DOB, then Matric marks |
| Provisional shortlist for DV / fitness | IndianOil will publish the shortlisted list on its official site; not yet issued in this advertisement |
| Choice of DV location and three apprenticeship-location preferences | Preference link will be sent to registered email when eligible; the location will be allotted on merit and requirements |
| Original-document verification | Original degree/diploma/12th marks, result, caste, ID, date of birth, conversion and other required evidence |
| Pre-engagement medical fitness and offer | Fitness certificate plus successful verification required before an actual offer |
No written examination, no question-paper syllabus, no CBT date and no interview are part of this notification. A provisional selection/DV list may be published later, but the current seven-page PDF is not such a list. Likewise, there is no official apprentice merit cutoff, answer key or admission card release to report now. Checking IndianOil's own Apprenticeships notices is important for the eventual DV list, region-wise instructions, corrigenda and offers.
What to collect before Document Verification
Bring the original Class X Board document for DOB, all semester/year mark sheets and final qualifying certificate, appropriate aggregate-percentage or CGPA/grade conversion certificate, and current central-format community documents where reserved benefits are claimed. Also retain an Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook first page, Aadhaar card, PAN card, cancelled cheque, and pre-engagement medical fitness certificate. Carry one passport-size photo and self-attested document copies. The selected applicant must give preferences for DV location and up to three apprenticeship training locations within the applied state where applicable through the official email-linked process; supplying preferences is mandatory, but allocation is on merit, not a personal guarantee.
💰 Stipend, benefits and the limits of apprenticeship
The notice commits to the monthly stipend prescribed under the Apprentices Act/Rules and IndianOil's guidelines, without printing a rupee figure by trade, state or year. Therefore the monthly stipend is Not specified as an amount; do not use a different refinery's stipend, an estimated PSU pay-matrix scale or an invented ₹10,000–₹15,000 range. It also says apprentices receive no company accommodation, HRA, conveyance or medical-facility benefit in addition to stipend. Personal travel and living arrangements are the trainee's responsibility. Completion of 12 months does not obligate IndianOil to employ the apprentice, nor does it create permanent absorption rights.
This financial distinction matters especially to someone comparing a three-seat single-station pool with a larger but multi-city pool: you do not automatically get your first-choice town, and a statutory training stipend is different from an employee's salary or regular benefits package.

Assam · Eastern Region Pipelines (ERPL) — 13 apprentice training seats
Official locations: Bongaigaon, Guwahati. The 13 notified seats are combined across advertised apprenticeship trades in Assam under ERPL, not 13 seats in every trade. With 11.2% of the ERPL regional total (116), this is ranked 4 among the region's 5 state rows by seat count. These are calculations from the official regional table, not candidate selection odds.
What makes this state-region choice different
The notification does not specify numbers for each city or each trade; the state figure must never be read as a guaranteed allocation for Mechanical, Electrical, HR, Accountant or DEO alone.
The two official establishment identifiers for ERPL are NATS EWBKOC000079 and NAPS E11181900005. Confirm an actual trade opening under this establishment before applying. Station or trade seat distribution is not specified in the seven-page advertisement. The candidate later gives preferences where permitted; a preferred station is not guaranteed.
Select your eligible trade—not every listed trade
The three Technician categories require the specifically named three-year full-time Mechanical/Automobile, Electrical/Electrical & Electronics, or six listed Electronics/Instrumentation engineering Diploma branches. Assistant-Human Resource accepts a regular recognised Bachelor degree; Accountant requires a Commerce Bachelor degree. Both NATS degree routes require the stated minimum aggregate. DEO Fresher accepts Class 12 below Graduate; Domestic DEO also needs the specified recognised sub-one-year Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate. They use NAPS. For Diploma/Degree the normal aggregate condition is 50%, with 45% for eligible SC/ST/PwBD against reserved positions. The PDF gives no numeric Class 12 DEO cutoff.
Merit, documents, training and application
There is no written test or personal interview. Merit follows aggregate qualifying marks across all years/subjects; a tie goes first to older date of birth, then to higher Class X percentage. Age 18–24 and qualification completion are tested at 30 November 2026, not application closing on 5 December. Applicants with past/current apprenticeship, one year or more of post-qualification work or training, five years elapsed since relevant qualification, or expressly barred higher professional qualifications can be ineligible.
Apply for one trade code only, first against the ERPL establishment opportunity on NATS/NAPS, then finish the separate IndianOil Pipelines registration Parts I and II with matching phone/email. Have original degree/diploma/12th marks, CGPA conversion certificate where applicable, Class X birth proof, relevant category documents, bank details and pre-engagement medical fitness evidence ready for later verification. This is a 12-month training engagement, not guaranteed permanent employment. Exact monthly stipend is Not specified as a rupee figure, and employer accommodation, HRA, conveyance and medical-facility benefits are not offered in the notice.
Twelve-month statutory apprenticeship training in the single applied and allotted technical or non-technical trade at an IndianOil Pipelines Division establishment; specific daily task allocation not detailed in the advertisement.
- Follow the one actual selected trade and its apprenticeship training programme
- Provide truthful academic aggregate, age and category credentials
- Attend original certificate/medical verification if shortlisted
- Choose one genuine trade opening under ERPL in the correct NATS (EWBKOC000079) or NAPS (E11181900005) establishment. Do not use IDs for another pipeline region.
- Complete the matching NATS/NAPS opportunity application before IndianOil Pipelines Part-I and Part-II by 5 December 2026; no exact time printed.
- Use the same active email and mobile on both sites; upload 20–50 KB colour JPG photograph and 10–30 KB JPG black-ink signature in Part-II.
- Bring original all-semester marksheets, qualifying certificate, Board-approved CGPA conversion proof if applicable, Class-X DOB proof, category records, Aadhaar/bank details and medical fitness certificate at DV.
- Do not submit multiple trade codes; selection is qualifying-exam merit and verification, NOT a written exam or interview.
13 seats are an officially notified aggregate for Assam within ERPL across potential seven-trade pathways, not a post-code or caste split. Trade-wise/UR-SC-ST-OBC-EWS and individual training-centre splits are NOT published. PwBD and other reservations governed by actual applicable government/notice rules; no fictitious category counts.

Bihar · Eastern Region Pipelines (ERPL) — 25 apprentice training seats
Official locations: Barauni, Motihari, Muzaffarpur, Patna. The 25 notified seats are combined across advertised apprenticeship trades in Bihar under ERPL, not 25 seats in every trade. With 21.6% of the ERPL regional total (116), this is ranked 3 among the region's 5 state rows by seat count. These are calculations from the official regional table, not candidate selection odds.
What makes this state-region choice different
The state-region figure of 25 covers Barauni, Motihari, Muzaffarpur and Patna together; this is not a 25-seat advertisement for each of the four stations.

DEO Fresher accepts Class 12 below Graduate; Domestic DEO also needs the specified recognised sub-one-year Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate. They use NAPS. DEO Fresher accepts Class 12 below Graduate; Domestic DEO also needs the specified recognised sub-one-year Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate. They use NAPS. Applicants with past/current apprenticeship, one year or more of post-qualification work or training, five years elapsed since relevant qualification, or expressly barred higher professional qualifications can be ineligible.

Odisha · South Eastern Region Pipelines (SERPL) — 49 apprentice training seats
Official locations: Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Brahmapur, Jatni, Jharsuguda, Paradip, Sambalpur. The 49 notified seats are combined across advertised apprenticeship trades in Odisha under SERPL, not 49 seats in every trade. With 62.0% of the SERPL regional total (79), this is ranked 1 among the region's 5 state rows by seat count. These are calculations from the official regional table, not candidate selection odds.
What makes this state-region choice different
Odisha has the largest SERPL state pool with 49 seats; the seven named Odisha stations are not individual 49-seat opportunities.
The two official establishment identifiers for SERPL are NATS EORBBSC000001 and NAPS E02252100002.
Apply for one trade code only, first against the SERPL establishment opportunity on NATS/NAPS, then finish the separate IndianOil Pipelines registration Parts I and II with matching phone/email. This is a 12-month training engagement, not guaranteed permanent employment. Exact monthly stipend is Not specified as a rupee figure, and employer accommodation, HRA, conveyance and medical-facility benefits are not offered in the notice.
