Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) is a Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. The company plays an important role in supporting India’s mineral-resource development through systematic exploration, geological investigation, drilling, sampling, geophysical and geochemical studies, laboratory analysis and specialised mineral consultancy services.
MECL undertakes mineral exploration assignments across different parts of India for a wide range of metallic, non-metallic and strategic mineral resources. Its activities cover the complete exploration cycle, including geological mapping, survey work, core drilling, sample collection, laboratory testing, resource assessment, geological modelling and preparation of technical exploration reports. The organisation also provides technical and consultancy support to government agencies, public-sector organisations and other stakeholders involved in mineral development.
With multidisciplinary teams of geologists, geophysicists, drilling professionals, engineers, surveyors, laboratory specialists, technical personnel and administrative staff, MECL combines field exploration with scientific analysis and modern exploration techniques.
