RECPDCL 2026: 32 Executive Contracts — Nine Real Work Profiles, Evidence-Based Shortlisting and 17 November Deadline
The 27 October 2026 recruitment notice RECPDCL/HR/2026/03 seeks experienced specialists for 32 fixed-term positions. It is not a fresh permanent REC Ltd. recruitment, a generic trainee drive or an open-to-all engineering graduate exercise. RECPDCL is the REC Ltd. subsidiary that carries out power distribution, smart-metering, renewable, transmission and quality/consultancy assignments. Candidates are being recruited to specific grades and technical or finance functions, and employment can begin at Gurugram, Mumbai, Ladakh or locations across India. The original notice was issued 27 October; a web article updated on 29 October is not its notification date.
🧾 Applicant decision desk
This is a quality-of-qualification and work-experience screen. An otherwise attractive MBA, M.Tech or professional certification cannot replace the required base discipline, relevant years or essential accreditation; conversely, a preferred analytics or design credential should not be misrepresented as mandatory.
📊 Vacancy arithmetic — the actual nine recruitment rows
📊 Vacancy share by grade
Grade counts are mutually exclusive: 3 + 19 + 10 = 32. This chart does not split the pooled L3 reservation into invented post-by-post category figures.
📈 Seats by specialist role
⚖️ Reservation explained without double counting
The PDF publishes UR 2 for Compliance, UR 1 for Offset, and UR 1 for the Civil Transmission Deputy Executive. For the four other L3 technical roles—Distribution 4, Renewable 2, Utility Coordinator 11, and Electrical Transmission 1—it prints a pooled 18-seat roster: UR 8, SC 4, ST 2 and OBC-NCL 4. Those 18 figures are not allocated individually to each specialization. L2 Utility Engineer has UR 3, OBC-NCL 4, EWS 1; L2 Finance has UR 2.
📊 Whole-recruitment vertical reservation
Of these, the notification identifies four backlog vacancies: SC 1 and ST 1 within the Deputy Executive L3 pool, and OBC-NCL 2 within the eight Utility Engineer L2 seats. Adding backlog again would falsely inflate the total to 36. Three PwBD reservations are horizontal within eligible posts under rows 3–9; those are not three additional vacancies and the source does not disclose a row-wise PwBD seat placement. Eligibility depends on the identified disability groups shown on original page 4. SC/ST age relaxation up to 5 years, OBC-NCL up to 3, and PwBD an additional 10 years where applicable; applicants for UR posts are treated as General for relevant concessions. Proof and eligibility rules still apply.
🎓 Who should apply — exact qualification paths and pitfalls
Lead Verifier, Compliance: merely holding an engineering degree or having worked on sustainability reports is insufficient. The advertised base is qualification under the BEE Accredited Energy Auditors Regulations, 2010, plus BEE Accredited Energy Auditor status and ISO 14064-1/2/3 Lead Verifier certification. Thirteen post-qualification years are required, with auditable team-lead and carbon-accounting work. The annexure requires audit engagement details rather than a generic résumé.
Lead Verifier, Offset: an engineering degree/equivalent or B.Sc/equivalent plus 13 relevant years, of which at least five years must be CDM/VCM validation/verification as a team member, and the ISO lead-verifier certificate. The project-level Annexure-B makes registry ID, country, scope, role, supporting web documents and project status material to eligibility.
Distribution/Renewable/Electrical Transmission: B.E./B.Tech full-time in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics, minimum 60%, First Division or formally equivalent CGPA; six years of the relevant function, not generic six years in any company. Distribution is about 33/11 kV and above substations/lines/transformers; renewable about execution, monitoring or O&M; transmission electrical about 132 kV and above equipment, substations and transmission systems. These are substantially different evidence requirements.
Utility Coordination/Utility Engineering: the notice also accepts Electronics & Communications, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology, alongside Electrical/Electrical & Electronics. However, six years (Coordinator) or three years (Engineer) must relate to power-sector development/planning/agency coordination. A pure software job without power-sector project linkage does not establish the advertised relevant experience automatically. Smart metering and data analytics are preferences.
Civil Transmission: full-time Civil B.E./B.Tech (60%, first division or equivalent) and six years relevant infrastructure/transmission/generation civil experience. The publication says preference for three of those years in power-sector civil construction/design/engineering; do not turn that preference into a separate compulsory six-plus-three requirement.
Finance: CA/CMA or MBA Finance with 60%/equivalent CGPA and three years relevant post-qualification finance experience. Document corporate accounts, taxation, payables/receivables, treasury, analytics and audit coordination. The finance-specific shortlisting matrix is not the same as the engineering matrix.
Cut-off and rounding: age, experience and eligibility are assessed on 17 November 2026. Teaching, internship, induction or training time does not count as qualifying work experience. The original rule expressly says 59.9% is below 60%; do not round up, and attach the institution's formal CGPA conversion method. Recognised degrees and proof of exact dates are critical.
💰 Remuneration and what it does NOT mean
📈 Monthly consolidated pay by grade
These are Monthly Consolidated Pay (MCP) amounts, not pay-matrix basic salaries or verified in-hand figures. The company lists possible additional benefits under its policy, including medical benefits, accidental insurance, laptop/mobile/office-bag reimbursement and Ladakh hardship allowance where applicable. Higher MCP may be considered for deserving candidates by relevant company guidelines; the starred amount is not a guaranteed negotiating entitlement or revised rate. The exact take-home after taxes and deductions is not declared.
📨 Online application: evidence-first workflow
- Verify the nine-row eligibility table and select only one RECPDCL post. Multiple applications may result in management considering only one at its discretion.
- Prepare a current email and telephone you can retain for at least a year. Registration name and email cannot be changed afterward.
- Register on the official RECPDCL career page. Use the email activation/password reset message, sign in and choose the matching post.
- Have a recent colour photograph and signature in JPG, 10–100 KB each. Prepare scans of Class X or birth record, all degree marksheets, percentage/CGPA-conversion rule, category/disability documents, NOC if applicable and the experience proof portfolio.
- For the L5 Lead Verifier posts include BEE/ISO credentials and the correct Annexure-A and/or Annexure-B logs with supporting reports, project IDs, dates, roles and proof. The government notice says these records are required; a job title alone is weak evidence.
- Record each employment in descending order starting with the present employer. Provide joining/appointment proof (or first payslip), full service periods and relevant functions; last three payslips, CTC/salary proof with ITR/Form-16A and relieving orders where there was a previous employer.
- Check all entries before final submission. The instructions say no correction afterward. Retain acknowledgement and preview printout. Do not send a hard copy.
- Submit by 17 November 2026 at 6:30 PM. No application fee is specified in this original document. For portal errors, the notice identifies app.helpdesk@recpdcl.in, it@recpdcl.in or recruitment@recpdcl.in.
An incomplete upload, unsupported domain-experience claim, invalid conversion document, absent essential professional certificate or inconsistent joining/relieving dates can defeat an otherwise strong professional application. NOC is needed for eligible public-sector/government candidates at interview, or the prescribed relieving order at joining.
🧭 Recruitment → appointment lifecycle (actual published rules)
Stage 1 — Notification, advertisement identity, correction watch
The starting record is RECPDCL/HR/2026/03, not older 2026/01 or 2026/02. Any extension, amended seats, new interview schedule or instructions must come through the RECPDCL/REC official site. Notification date and aggregator-update date are not interchangeable.
Stage 2 — Qualification and professional credential gate
Before scoring, every applicant must satisfy the 17 November age and domain qualification rules. L5 ISO/BEE verification is essential; the relevant B.E./B.Tech specialization cannot be bypassed for L3/L2 posts. Applicants who lack required post-qualification years do not get eligibility simply by earning optional higher-qualification points.
Stage 3 — Online registration and eligibility evidence
Only one post may be chosen; record locked identity and contact details accurately. Submitted documentary support forms the basis for scoring. The last three payslips, detailed certificates and conversion formula can be as important to credibility as the degree itself.
Stage 4 — Higher screening, if necessary
RECPDCL may apply a 100-mark published engineering or finance shortlisting matrix if eligible applications are numerous. The 100 are not marks for an announced written examination and they are not a published final interview weighting. A provisional threshold or individual cutoff has not been announced.
Stage 5 — Indicative candidates per vacancy
For L3 Distribution, Renewable, Electrical Transmission and Civil Transmission, the benchmark is ordinarily up to 10 candidates per seat; for L3 Utility Coordinator and L2 Utility Engineer, up to 6 per seat; for L2 Finance up to 10 per seat. These are indicative and can change. The source does not announce a corresponding separate numeric ratio for L5.
Stage 6 — Engineering 100-mark shortlisting model
For applicable engineering roles, qualifying-exam score contributes up to 35, relevant further qualification up to 25, post-qualification experience up to 40. Published threshold illustration: 65% = 10, 70% = 15, 75% = 20, 80% = 25, 85%+ = 35. Relevant ME/MTech/MS = 12 and specified management MBA/PGDM = 13 within the 25-mark block. For additional experience beyond the post's required PQE: +1 year 10, +2 15, +3 20, +4 25, +5 30 and +6 or more 40. These are the original panel values, not candidate scores promised for all degrees.
Stage 7 — Finance 100-mark shortlisting model
Finance uses 25 for listed higher/additional qualifications, 25 for five relevant function blocks (core reporting, taxation, ERP, analytics/MIS, audit), and 50 for post-qualification additional experience. The stated +1 to +5 year ladder gives 10/20/30/40/50 points above the essential PQE. Relevance must be supported by evidence; a plain MBA or role name by itself does not demonstrate each work-function block.
Stage 8 — Tie rules
For shortlisting cutoff ties, the published sequence favours higher essential engineering marks/CGPA, more total PQE, then more directly relevant domain experience. If still tied, all candidates at the cutoff may be shortlisted. This is not an announced final appointment tie-break for the finance stream.
Stage 9 — Personal interview
Shortlisted eligible candidates may be interviewed at the company corporate office or online, at management discretion. No confirmed interview date, interview questions, scoring rubric or panel-specific cutoff has been published. Candidates invited physically may claim eligible to-and-fro travel fare upon proof under policy, but lodging is not reimbursed.
Stage 10 — No established standalone written exam, syllabus, admit card or answer key
The original document announces the personal-interview route and a document-based screening matrix. It does not publish a CBT, objective paper, negative marking, exam hall-ticket date, official topic-by-topic written syllabus or answer-key challenge process. Therefore Exam, Admit Card and Answer Key lifecycle records remain empty until formally announced. Technical learning suggestions below are editorial interview readiness, not official syllabus.
Stage 11 — Merit and result notice
The company plans to issue offers to suitable candidates in merit order and subject to vacancies. A shortlist, interview result, final list, specific result date, reservation cutoff or additional merit calculation is not yet published in this PDF. A screening score alone does not guarantee offer. The employer may vary or cancel positions.
Stage 12 — Original document verification
Carry the actual certificates uploaded at registration: age, degree, conversion formula, caste/EWS/PwBD where claimed, essential L5 accreditation, experience letters, joining/relieving orders, salary evidence and NOC. The notice warns that applicants not producing the originals cannot proceed and will receive no qualifying fare reimbursement.
Stage 13 — Medical and employment checks
Engagement depends on the medical fitness required by the company; the notice offers no relaxation in medical standards. Current public sector staff should obtain proper-channel clearance/NOC and avoid concealing current employment. Exact medical appointment dates are not published.
Stage 14 — Offer, posting and start of fixed tenure
Appointment is for one year initially, not appointment against a permanent sanctioned vacancy. Management can place the individual at its relevant project/unit locations, including other parts of India; total permissible engagement can be extended according to requirement/performance but cannot exceed four years and six months under this notice.
Stage 15 — After tenure
No automatic renewal, absorption, regularisation, pensionable permanent cadre or guaranteed future RECPDCL role arises from this contract. Only a subsequent notified recruitment/contractual arrangement, if any, creates new applicant rights.
📚 Interview-readiness pathways — NOT an official written syllabus
Candidates should bring 2–3 real, document-supported project stories and a clean chronology establishing every mandatory year. Do not memorize a generic engineering competitive-exam syllabus for an examination this notice does not schedule.
❓ Document-grounded FAQs
Is this recruitment issued on 29 October? No. It is dated 27 October 2026. Today’s posting by an aggregator does not change the advertisement date.
Are these government permanent jobs? No. Fixed-tenure contracts under a government-owned power subsidiary, initially one year.

Official sources and verification boundary
The decision rules, post table, qualifications, salary, shortlisting matrix, application process and Annexure-A/B are based on the original RECPDCL/HR/2026/03 14-page advertisement, with its own date 27 October 2026. Domain-based case-study suggestions are explicitly editorial preparations, not a prescribed syllabus. Only official RECPDCL communications can confirm subsequent exam/interview schedules, shortlist, medical calls or result.
🔎 Specialist eligibility audit — cases that change the applicant's decision
A. An eligible degree is not enough without domain-linked employment proof
The advertisement counts completed experience acquired after the prescribed qualifying qualification up to 17 November 2026, and explicitly excludes teaching, internships, induction and training. This makes two applicants with the same number of calendar years different: an electrical engineer who spent six years in distribution substation execution can potentially substantiate the L3 Distribution domain; another electrical engineer with six years in unrelated building software cannot automatically claim equivalent power-distribution experience. Similarly, a candidate with three years of generic MIS experience must demonstrate power-sector development/planning/agency coordination for an L2 Utility Engineer route. The exact evidence needs to connect date, employer, role, named work activity and end-to-end duration.
These are editorial examples, not formal employer decisions. In disputed academic-equivalence cases, the employer retains the final discretion stated in the notification.
B. Compliance lead versus Offset lead: separate evidence architecture
For Compliance Mechanism L5, page 1 specifies qualifications under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Qualification for Accredited Energy Auditors and Maintenance of the List) Regulations, 2010, with both Accredited Energy Auditor by BEE and Lead Verifier ISO 14064-1/2/3 certifications. Annexure-A is an evidentiary grid for energy/GHG audits: employer/site, location, sector (preferably CCTS-notified), type of work, actual team role, month/year and remarks. It separately provides team-member and team-leader formats. Applicants should show verifiable team-leading judgement and distinguish an audit's evidence trail from a mere project name.
For Offset Mechanism L5, page 1 instead permits B.E./B.Tech/equivalent or B.Sc/equivalent, requires 13 completed PQE years, with at least five years of CDM/VCM validation and/or verification as a team member, plus ISO 14064-1/2/3 Lead Verifier certification. Annexure-B records carbon project registry ID, title, host country, sectoral scope, technology, validation/verification activity, assigned role, status, public project-document link and supporting records. Annexure-B also provides team-leader reporting and a GHG project table referring to reports for the sectors sought for accreditation. The issuer does not say that an ordinary renewable-project commissioning certificate alone can replace five years of CDM/VCM verification.
Submission quality check for L5: reconcile Annexure-A/B project dates with joining and exit dates of employers, match leadership claims to the certificate/appointment record, identify project phase and avoid claiming simultaneous full-time work where the service chronology cannot support it. This is a practical evidence check inferred from the employer's detailed documentary demands; it is not an extra statutory qualification.
C. Graduate streams and finance qualification are not interchangeable
Distribution, Renewable and Electrical Transmission L3 require regular full-time Electrical or Electrical & Electronics engineering/equivalent. L3 Civil Transmission requires the corresponding Civil branch. L3 Utility Coordinator and L2 Utility Engineer also admit Electronics & Communications, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology, but power-sector experience remains mandatory. A degree with "Electronics" in its title is not automatically interchangeable with the exact Electronics & Communications branch: if the nomenclature differs, obtain institutional and employer equivalence clarification rather than changing the branch in the application.
L2 Finance is an independent route for CA/CMA or MBA Finance with the stated minimum 60%/equivalent CGPA criterion, and three years relevant finance experience. The PDF's finance-domain description specifically includes corporate accounts, direct/indirect taxation, payables/receivables, treasury, management and financial analysis, or audit coordination. A generic business-administration master's degree without the finance specialization should not be silently substituted. Professional-body degree/equivalence questions and the application of percentage marks to professional credentials should be clarified with RECPDCL where a candidate's qualification does not naturally use a percentage scale.
🧮 Detailed document-based shortlisting calculators — not an official written examination
The following tables reproduce the published optional higher shortlisting criteria for circumstances where many otherwise eligible candidates apply. No fixed score guarantees an interview, and no interview marks-to-screening marks merger is stated. In particular, the employer may shortlist higher or lower numbers than the indicative ratios.
Engineering scoring ladder — qualifying academic marks (maximum 35)
The PDF lists these benchmark rows but does not expressly explain every intermediate percentage (for example 72%). Do not interpolate an unpublished exact 72% conversion rule. The recruitment team will apply the official interpretation. Essential engineering eligibility still starts with its prescribed 60%/First Division/equivalent route. The academic scoring table does not separately announce a score for precisely 60%.
Engineering additional qualifications and experience (maximum 65 combined)
The higher/additional-qualification block has a published 25-point cap. The two rows explain the announced allocation; do not add an unrelated or unverifiable course to reach the cap.
Example of a conditional illustration, not an official individual score: an otherwise eligible engineering applicant with exactly 75% in the qualifying degree, a verified relevant M.Tech and minimum PQE + 3 completed years matches the 20 + 12 + 20 = 52 listed points. This arithmetic does not determine eligibility, interview invitation or final rank by itself; the source says documentary verification and relevance are mandatory. The notice does not separately allocate a PQE score at exactly the minimum; do not assume zero is a formally announced rule.
Finance scoring ladder — different 25 + 25 + 50 structure
The relevant higher/additional qualification block separately lists ICWA, CS, LLB and MBA (Finance) for up to 25 marks. Because MBA Finance is also a route to essential eligibility, the PDF does not resolve in text whether the very same qualification can count twice for an MBA-only candidate. Do not promise an automatic 25 extra marks for simply holding the mandatory MBA; applicants should seek the authority's interpretation. The finance experience points are 10/20/30/40/50 for minimum required PQE +1/+2/+3/+4/+5 years, respectively, with a 50-mark cap. The table does not publish a separate score for the bare minimum three years.
Cut-off ties and interview shortlist ratio
For a tie at the shortlisting cut-off, the notified order is (1) higher essential engineering degree percentage/CGPA, (2) higher total PQE, (3) higher directly relevant domain experience; if still tied, all such candidates may be shortlisted. Since the first condition explicitly mentions engineering, do not represent it as a definitively established corresponding finance tie-break. The company retains its discretion. Indicative invite ratios: Distribution, Renewable, Electrical Transmission, Civil Transmission and Finance up to 10 per seat; Utility Coordinator and Utility Engineer up to 6 per seat. No distinct numerical shortlist ratio is published for the two L5 verifier rows.
🗂️ Evidence upload and interview-day verification — actual items from PDF pages 9–10
Registration and upload sequence
- At RECPDCL's official Career Page, create a login with a correct name and working email. Name/email are locked against later changes; activate using the email link and password reset received.
- Choose only one of the nine posts. Comparing available qualifications beforehand matters because a candidate should not upload two job applications as a hedge.
- Photograph and signature must be ready in JPG format, 10 KB–100 KB each. The notice specifies these constraints for the online application.
- Prove date of birth with Class X or birth certificate; add caste/EWS/PwBD/ex-serviceman documents when claimed. Current OBC applicants must actually fall under NCL to claim OBC-NCL; creamy-layer applicants must apply in the unreserved category.
- Upload pass certificates and semester/annual marksheets showing course, specialization, regular/full-time mode, duration and class/CGPA/percentage. If the institution does not print a percentage, its official CGPA conversion formula is required; supplying an applicant-calculated estimate is risky.
- Upload any additional qualifications for which higher-shortlisting credit is sought. For L5 Compliance or Offset, attach the actual BEE/ISO certifications plus the relevant Annexure-A/B project logs and supporting certificates/reports.
- Record current and prior employment most recent first, with appointment/joining order or first-month payslip, dated experience/service certificates describing functions and CTC, joining and relieving proof, last three salary slips, and salary/CTC plus ITR/Form-16A evidence requested in the notice.
- Preview each field before final submission because correction is not permitted later. Retain an acknowledgement/preview print; hard-copy dispatch is not required. There is no application fee amount stated in this 14-page PDF—this does not prove the applicant will never encounter any payment instruction on the live portal.
- Submit online before 17 November 2026, 6:30 PM. Any change of interview venue or extension must be checked on the issuer's official site, not inferred from old notifications.
Verification and service chronology audit
For each employer and project, the evidence should answer: exact joining date; exact relieving/end date or continuing status; qualification already obtained at the start; employer and sector; functional responsibility; salary/CTC; and independent paperwork validating the claim. A certificate saying only "worked as executive" with no power-sector responsibilities does not establish six years of 132 kV transmission inspection or smart-meter rollout work. For the L5 offset role, dated project-level CDM/VCM evidence is needed inside the 13-year history. For the finance role, a job title alone does not establish all five specialised finance functions.
Original documents at the interview
Bring the originals of the same qualification and employment evidence uploaded. Government/PSU/Autonomous Body candidates must follow proper channel or provide a valid NOC at interview, or a proper relieving document for joining as the notice allows. If originals are missing, the employer says the candidate may be barred from selection and lose entitlement to interview travel fare. The source allows eligible return travel reimbursement on the shortest route with journey proof subject to policy and rules; lodging is not reimbursed. Exact interview date and venue/mode remain unannounced.
🧭 Full job lifecycle: what the employer has announced and what it has NOT announced
Distinguish interview study from official syllabus
No objective CBT, negative marking, written-paper subject distribution or standalone exam timetable appears in the advertisement. There is no reason to create a separate public Exam record now. A useful editorial interview preparation route for each post is to (1) learn the named technical scope in page 1–3, (2) prepare one project timeline establishing the exact essential experience, (3) create a portfolio evidence map linking the claimed duties to real employer/project documents, and (4) rehearse scenario answers explaining how decisions, exceptions, safety, data integrity and stakeholder escalation were handled. These are candidate-development recommendations, not employer-issued compulsory examination topics.
After the Personal Interview: the risks people often overlook
Being eligible or even shortlisted is not an appointment. RECPDCL may increase/decrease seats, modify or cancel recruitment, and will make offers only to suitable candidates in merit order. Medical fitness and original-document scrutiny remain conditions. The issued engagement starts as a one-year contract, not a regular government grade appointment; L2/L3/L5 grade labels here are company vacancy levels, not a blanket central-government pay matrix. Remuneration is monthly consolidated pay, not a guarantee of in-hand cash after applicable deductions. Corporate policies govern possible laptop/mobile/medical/insurance/hardship entitlements. Travel and accommodation rules for interviews are distinct from posting benefits.
⚠️ Borderline cases requiring written clarification, not invented rules
- Finance scoring and MBA Finance: the optional shortlisting matrix mentions MBA (Finance) among higher/additional qualifications although MBA Finance can be the essential degree. Confirm whether a particular credential earns additional points instead of assuming double credit.
- Engineering intermediate percentage marks: only 65, 70, 75, 80 and 85+ benchmark values are printed. Exact points for numbers between thresholds are not separately described; do not interpolate.
- Compliance lead's BEE eligibility: formal degree equivalence is governed by the BEE regulations cited, not a generic engineering-degree guess.
- L3 pooled roster: the advertisement declares UR8/SC4/ST2/OBC-NCL4 for the combined 18 designated technical positions; it does not show a separate 4-seat Distribution SC/UR table. Individual-speciality reservation mapping should be obtained from the issuer if needed.
- Role-specific posting: Mumbai, Gurugram, Ladakh and Pan India labels appear, but the issuer also reserves reassignment based on company needs. No guarantee of a final permanent city results from the vacancy row.
- Official exam records: the only clearly stated selection test is Personal Interview after screening. Any later test or revised recruitment scheme must first be evidenced by an official corrigendum before publishing new Exam/Admit Card/Answer Key records.
