The notice specifies General Knowledge/Aptitude Test, including Numerical Aptitude, Qualitative Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. No internal marks per technical heading are published. Do not infer that solar, antennas, semiconductor physics or marine navigation equipment carry any specific fraction of the 60 technical marks.
This exam blends electronics diploma theory with real maritime navigation-system equipment. Unlike a generic IT exam, Annexure-V explicitly names marine lanterns, RACON, DGPS, NAVTEX, AIS, VHF, solar MPPT and microwave antennas. That aligns with the published post duties: installation/upgradation, maintenance and fault correction for Aids to Navigation and optical systems at lighthouses. Connecting those two parts of the official notice is the most useful preparation insight; it does not constitute an invented weightage.
The notice prohibits mobile phones, calculators and other devices in the examination hall. Exam centre information is to appear on the admit/call card; changing the allotted centre is not permitted under the notice. Applicants are expected to monitor the official DGLL website and their provided email/postal contact for written test, trade test and certificate-verification calls.
