Employment Notice 02/2026 | Directorate of Lighthouses and Lightships (DLL), Goa | Government of India
This is a specialist central-government Aids to Navigation (AtoN) recruitment, not a general office-computer or entry-level electronics vacancy. DLL Goa has advertised one Technician (Electronics) post reserved for EWS in the 7th CPC Level-5 pay matrix, ₹29,200–₹92,300 basic pay. An accepted engineering diploma and one year of specified wireless installation/maintenance experience are essential. Selection involves a 100-question written test, a qualifying trade test and certificate verification. Successful candidates may be posted to lighthouse stations anywhere in India, including remote and island locations.
📜 Primary document: Read the complete bilingual 19-page Employment Notice 02/2026, prescribed application form and Annexure-V syllabus. The notice appeared in the 24–30 October 2026 Employment News issue; the DGLL recruitment index lists the Goa item on 27 October 2026. Those are different dates.
| Deadline rule | Last physical receipt at DLL Goa |
|---|---|
| Standard applications | 8 December 2026, 5:00 PM |
| Residents of the specifically listed remote areas | 22 December 2026, 5:00 PM |
The exceptional date is not a general extension for every applicant. The notice names residents of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim; the Ladakh Division of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State; Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi subdivision of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh; Andaman and Nicobar Islands; and Lakshadweep Islands. The notice uses historical administrative terminology for Ladakh; follow the authority's wording and confirm eligibility if the residence boundary is material to your application. Age is still expressly calculated against 8 December 2026 in the eligibility section; do not silently move the age reference to 22 December for remote-area residents.
Receipt, not dispatch: An envelope posted on the closing day but delivered later does not meet the stated receipt requirement. Keep a copy of the signed application and postal tracking proof. The Government has not advertised an online form-submission route for this notification.

This is a single-post advertisement. There is no defensible vacancy-comparison bar chart or pie chart by post; showing one would suggest nonexistent additional vacancies. The useful numerical analysis is instead the published 40:60 written-exam marks split, shown below.
The essential qualification is a diploma from a recognised institution in Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Electrical and Electronics, including a combination of the named disciplines, or an equivalent qualification recognised under the applicable rules. The diploma must have been completed by the relevant closing date; the notice explicitly says applicants awaiting final examination results should not apply.
Do not read equivalent as permission for any unrelated qualification. A certificate from a short electronics course, a general IT/software qualification, or a purely electrical diploma without an accepted equivalence decision should not automatically be presented as meeting the specified diploma requirement. A candidate claiming equivalence should obtain documentary confirmation from the competent authority; this article cannot make that recognition decision.
The advertisement additionally requires one year of experience in the installation and maintenance of wireless transmitters, receivers, aerial systems and associated power plant. This is not merely a preference for candidates with any one year in an electronics shop or general computer support. Prepare employer-issued records showing period, designation and the nature of technical work; the prescribed application contains an experience-history table and requests evidence. Microwave-equipment handling is desirable, not a substitute for the essential diploma or specified year of experience.
Examples to apply the rules correctly (illustrative, not authority decisions):
The vacancy table specifies EWS 01, Total 01. The applicant must attach the competent-authority Income & Asset Certificate in Annexure-IV format valid for financial year 2026–27, based on financial year 2025–26 income, as described in the notification and the cited DoPT memorandum. The published annexure includes income and asset tests: assess entitlement against the official certificate criteria, not only a self-declared income figure.
The basic age band is 18 to 27 years on 8 December 2026. Applicable relaxation is governed by prevailing Central Government rules and the required supporting certificate; the notice does not publish a new universal numerical age concession for EWS applicants. Do not assume EWS status alone adds five years. Government servants claiming the relevant relaxation must use the prescribed Annexure-II certificate, where applicable.
The notification permits eligible persons with disabilities to apply because it identifies the role as suitable, but explicitly says this post is not separately reserved for PwD. A PwD applicant must include the relevant competent-authority disability certificate and must still satisfy applicable EWS and other criteria. Being PwD is not a replacement for EWS eligibility on this recruitment.
Only Indian nationals are invited to apply. No Goa domicile requirement is published; the office location in Goa does not make the competition Goa-only.
Pay Level 5 of the 7th Central Pay Commission: ₹29,200–₹92,300 (basic-pay matrix range). The notice says the initial appointment is at the minimum of that pay level plus allowances under applicable Government of India rules. The range is not a promise that a new joiner receives ₹92,300, nor should it be presented as in-hand monthly remuneration. Actual allowances, recoveries, posting-related benefits and net take-home are Not specified in the recruitment notice. Do not invent a gross-salary calculation or assume every remote-area posting attracts the same allowance.
Application fee: Not specified in the 19-page official notice. This is not a claim that an officially announced ₹0 fee exists; do not pay money to unofficial agents. The notice warns that DLL Goa has not authorised middlemen or agencies to act for recruitment.
The official duties section in the notification (printed page 10) is unusually specific. It states five areas of responsibility:
The practical implication is that an applicant should be comfortable with technical equipment reliability, fault investigation and station-based service. References in the exam syllabus to solar equipment, antennas, communication systems and navigation aids help explain the knowledge expected, but they do not expand the formally stated duties into an invented job charter.
The notice says a selected candidate may be required at the directorate or any lighthouse station, including remote and island locations, and may be transferred anywhere in India, explicitly including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Consider personal willingness to accept geographically isolated stations before posting a physical application.
Annexure-V publishes 100 multiple-choice questions, one mark each. There are 40 General Knowledge/Aptitude marks and 60 Technical marks. Each incorrect answer attracts a one-third-mark deduction; an unattempted question carries no such penalty. The notice does not publish a specific exam duration, exam date, qualifying cut-off value or examination centre for this fresh recruitment. The concerned committee will set qualifying standards, and the examination venue will be communicated in the call/admit card.
📊 Official written-exam marks distribution — DGLL Goa Technician Electronics
| Examination section | Marks |
|---|---|
| General Knowledge / Aptitude | 40 |
| Technical Electronics | 60 |
The technical portion comprises 60% of total marks, but there are no advertised section-wise qualifying marks. A candidate should not confuse the 60-mark technical allocation with the trade-test qualifying standard.
The trade test is qualifying in nature; its standard is decided by the recruitment committee. Among candidates who clear it, the notice says final selection is on written-examination merit. Original certificate verification, medical fitness and antecedent/character verification remain necessary for a provisional appointment. Unauthorised claims of guaranteed selection should be ignored.
The technical syllabus is already published in Annexure-V, pages 18–19 of the PDF, and is not an anticipated future release. The 17 named topic groups are:
| Technical area | What the notice specifically covers |
|---|---|
| 1. Atomic Structure | Atomic model, energy levels and crystal energy bands |
| 2. Semiconductor Physics | Conductors, semiconductor band structure, intrinsic/extrinsic materials, current carriers and PN junction |

| 16. Antennas | Propagation, VSAT/microwave antenna types and transceivers |
| 17. Security Systems | Fundamentals of digital security systems |
The syllabus table identifies topic coverage, not separate marks allotted to each technical subject. Do not create fabricated topic weightage percentages or a comparison bar chart assigning arbitrary marks to antennas, solar power or semiconductors.

Use the original Annexure-I form. Print on good-quality A4 paper, one side only. Complete it in your own handwriting using a blue or black ball-point pen; the notice disallows pencil, fountain pen and gel pen. Write requested personal particulars in clear English capitals, but do not sign in capitals: signatures must be the candidate's normal running signature, consistently used in later examination paperwork. Affix the left thumb impression where required.
Use a recent 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm colour photograph, no older than three months at application time; provide one identical extra photo with name/category written on its reverse. Do not submit a photocopied/scanned portrait as the physical photograph. Enclose the DOB certificate, diploma and marksheets, work-experience evidence, FY2026–27 EWS certificate, and other applicable annexures such as NOC (government/PSU employees), Ex-Servicemen discharge/qualification equivalence, PwD certificate and government-servant age-relaxation certificate.
The official envelope superscription is “Application for the post of Technician (Electronics)” and “Employment Notice No. 02/2026”. Send only one application for this post and do not pack multiple application forms in one envelope. Certificate copies and enclosures should be arranged and firmly attached in the stated order. Where supporting certificates are not in Hindi or English, the notice requires a self-attested translation into one of those languages.

The DGLL website currently places the Goa Technician (Electronics) entry under a heading labelled Archived Recruitments, although the original signed notice prints December 2026 deadlines. This portal classification and the future dates conflict. Before sending an application, check the issuing office's latest clarification or corrigendum; do not treat this article as a declaration that the authority has resolved that conflict.
Can a fresh diploma holder with no work history apply? The notice separately requires one year of the named wireless/aerial/power-plant installation and maintenance experience, so a diploma alone is not sufficient.
Does having a B.Tech instead of a listed diploma automatically qualify? The notice names diploma routes or recognised equivalent qualifications. It does not declare every engineering degree an automatic equivalent. Get an official equivalence determination rather than assuming.
Can applicants outside Goa apply? Yes. The advertisement invites eligible Indian nationals and gives no Goa-domicile limitation; however, this one seat is specifically EWS-reserved.
Do remote-area residents also get age assessed on 22 December? The notice gives 22 December as a special application-receipt deadline. Its age paragraph explicitly names 8 December 2026; avoid extrapolating a second age reference.
Is there a separate PwD vacancy? No. The notice identifies the single post as suitable for PwD applicants but not as PwD-reserved. The applicant must furnish an appropriate certificate and satisfy the other criteria.
Will the trade test add marks to final merit? Annexure-V calls it qualifying and states final selection is based on written merit among trade-test-qualified candidates; it does not publish extra trade-test marks in the final score.
When will the admit card or answer key come? No dates are announced in this notice. The Directorate says it will communicate call letters for stages by post/email and advises website monitoring.
Are applications accepted online? Not for this advertisement: Annexure-I must be completed and physically sent as instructed.
Is ₹92,300 the starting salary? No. That is the top of the Level-5 basic-pay scale. Starting basic pay is the minimum of the level with applicable allowances; net take-home is Not specified.
Which is the safest source? The original DGLL PDF establishes the advertised rules; the official DGLL recruitment page must be checked for any later clarification, cancellation or updated status. No private agent is appointed by the Directorate.
