SAMEER Mumbai / Navi Mumbai Advertisement 10/2026 — Category B assessment

This page covers the notified assessment route for PF01, PF02, SPS01, PS01, PS02, PM01, SPEX01, PEX01. The corresponding vacancy rows contain 22 seats in total. The prescribed route is Online interview → in-person interview.

What each stage decides

Academic screening first checks the essential qualification, minimum marks and relevant post-qualification experience. Ordinarily 55% or equivalent CGPA is required unless a post specifies otherwise. Possessing the minimum qualification does not guarantee an invitation.

This category does not have the same prescribed written-test route as Project Engineers. Prepare for the applicable interview or practical assessment and academic screening; do not assume that a common CBT applies to every post.

Assessment schedule

Written tests are listed from 22 November 2026 onwards for applicable categories. Online interviews are listed for 27–30 November for applicable categories. Skill-test/interaction dates remain to be announced. The in-person interview date of 14 December is proposed. Follow the call issued for your own post code.

Official syllabus scope and practical preparation

The notification says the written syllabus follows the general curriculum of government-run universities/colleges for the relevant engineering, science or graduate course. It does not provide a chapter-wise marks allocation. The following work areas come from the qualification/job-description annexure; revision suggestions are editorial guidance, not a separately notified paper blueprint.

Post / disciplineAnnexure work areas to connect with your course
Project Fellow — GaN / Electromagnetics / Microwave ApplicatorsIndependent RF/microwave research in GaN amplifiers, antennas, applicators and bio-heat modelling; publications, proposals and experimental validation.
Project Fellow — MRI Physics / Magnets / ProcessingMRI reconstruction, sequence development, magnets/gradient systems, phantom evaluation and experimental validation of MRI subsystems.
Senior Project Scientist — RF & MicrowaveRF/microwave design for radar, medical and high-power systems; antennas/applicators, electromagnetic simulation and technical project documentation.
Project Scientist — RF & MicrowaveRF/microwave design for radar, medical and high-power systems; antennas/applicators, electromagnetic simulation and technical project documentation.
Project Scientist — Electronics / EXTC / ECEElectronic and biomedical subsystems, signal/image processing, embedded firmware, FPGA integration and technical project proposals.
Project ManagerCoordination of scientific project teams, budgets, procurement, vendors, committee notes and project milestones.
Senior Project ExecutiveCoordination of scientific project teams, budgets, procurement, vendors, committee notes and project milestones.
Project ExecutiveProject administration, procurement documentation, vendor coordination, budgets, timelines and MoU/commercialisation support.

Start with your qualifying-course notes and distinguish concepts you can define from tasks you can explain. For an engineering example, prepare the objective, inputs, design or calculation, measurement method, observed result and limitations. For laboratory support, explain setup, calibration/checks, record keeping and how an unexpected measurement was investigated. For office/project administration, prepare a genuine example of a file, spreadsheet, procurement document or milestone tracker you handled without disclosing confidential employer information.

These are ways to organise revision and experience; they do not introduce extra eligibility tests. Avoid memorising an unverified coaching blueprint when the notice has not stated the paper duration or section weights.

Shortlisting: a ratio is not a promise

The general procedure refers to ordinary 1:6-or-more shortlists at specified stages and 1:3-or-more for the in-person stage, subject to the competent authority and category exceptions. For illustration, four vacancies at 1:6 correspond to 24 candidates, while 1:3 corresponds to 12. The actual list can differ under the advertised “or more” wording and applicable route. These examples are not published shortlist sizes.

Final assessment and eligibility verification

Final selection uses the in-person interview and/or skill-test/interaction marks applicable to the post. A qualifying written score must not be added to final marks using an invented formula. The general conditions prescribe 50% or more for applicable written/interview stages unless otherwise specified; the notice does not give a separate skill-test marking grid.

Prepare originals and one self-attested set: application, birth proof, identity, educational certificates and all-year marks, NAC for the relevant technical posts, experience records and relaxation certificates. The announced schedule does not establish that a call letter or result has already been released.

A focused preparation session

  1. Match the post code and mark the exact qualification route you satisfy.
  2. Review the corresponding course topics and the annexure’s work areas.
  3. Write one worked explanation of a genuine project or practical assignment, including how accuracy was checked.
  4. Practise explaining a fault, its likely causes and how evidence distinguishes them; use safe paper-based examples rather than unsupervised equipment work.
  5. Prepare your document folder and a reliable way to receive SAMEER’s email and portal communication.

Questions about the examination

How many questions and how much time? Not specified in the supplied notice. Use the official instructions accompanying the applicable assessment.

Is there negative marking? A rate is not stated in this notice; do not assume either a penalty or its absence.

Is an online interview the final selection? Where an in-person stage is prescribed, that stage still matters. Follow the category route rather than borrowing another post’s process.

Can a good interview overcome missing eligibility? No. Qualification, experience, age and documentary claims remain subject to verification.
