About this Recruitment

Recruitment-specific overview from the published record.

Bank of Baroda SRD 2026/19 — 11 backlog officer vacancies across eight career specialisations

Official notice: BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2026/19, 28 October 2026. Apply 28 October–17 November 2026. Eligibility and age reference: 1 October 2026. Employer: Bank of Baroda, regular officer cadre, posting anywhere in India.

This is not a mass-market bank clerk/PO exam and not Advt. 18/2026 for IT leadership. It is a Special Recruitment Drive solely for SC, ST and OBC (non-creamy layer) backlog vacancies, with eight specialist profiles spanning risk management, fraud, MSME and finance. The essential screening hurdle for most posts is documented post-qualification BFSI/banking experience, not a generic bachelor’s degree. A candidate eligible for one post may be ineligible for another; choose only one position, as the Bank expressly restricts multiple applications under this advertisement.

🧭 Decision dashboard: choose the correct department before applying

📊 Department-wise 11 backlog vacancies

DepartmentPosts
Risk Management6
MSME Banking1
Finance4

What the first pie reveals: Risk Management accounts for six of eleven seats, but even inside that department the minimum experience ranges from three years in Digital Fraud to five years in specialist risk roles. Do not infer a common degree/experience threshold across all six seats.

🎯 The backlog allocation is restricted — zero UR/EWS seats

The official reservation table shows exactly SC 4, ST 3, OBC 4. These categories sum to 11. There are no unreserved or EWS seats in this advertisement. Candidates in the OBC creamy layer or outside the Central OBC list are ineligible for this reserved-backlog drive, even if they otherwise satisfy degree and experience criteria. The Bank requests centrally prescribed category proof. Any applicable age relaxation depends on eligibility for the actual reserved vacancy, not simply on self-identification.

Important distinction: The Bank combines the four single-seat Senior Manager risk functions into one reservation-row total of SC 1, ST 1 and OBC 2. It does not say which of Project Finance, MSME Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk and Fraud Root Cause Analysis is SC/ST/OBC individually. Do not use a fabricated role-wise allotment for those four positions. The Digital Fraud and Finance two-seat splits are explicitly given.

📌 All eight appointments — do not collapse them into one generic Specialist Officer

🎓 Essential qualification: eight different gateways

RoleMandatory academic routeEmployer-specific experience
Project Finance/Infrastructure & ESGChartered Accountant (CA) OR full-time MBA/PGDM or recognised equivalent in a relevant field. CFA, FRM, PRM, ESG and SCR credentials are preferred, not mandatory.Five years in the BFSI sector, including at least three years in Project Finance with infrastructure exposure such as roads, ports or power.
MSME Credit RiskChartered Accountant (CA) OR full-time MBA/PGDM or recognised equivalent in a relevant field; CFA/FRM/PRM/ESG/SCR preferred.Five years in BFSI, including at least three years in an MSME Credit/Risk Management department handling credit risk.
Enterprise/Operational RiskChartered Accountant (CA) OR full-time MBA/PGDM or recognised equivalent in a relevant field; additional CFA/FRM/PRM/ESG/SCR certifications preferred.Five years in BFSI Operational Risk, including at least three years at an operational unit; internal controls, process/IT-control management may be considered.
Fraud Root Cause AnalysisBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Finance or Accounting OR CA OR Company Secretary (CS); CFE/CFF/CAMS preferred.Five years in BFSI, with three years in Audit, Compliance, Risk & Governance, Operational Risk or Fraud Risk.
Digital FraudBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT or Data Science, OR MCA.At least three years working in IT/Digital area in the banking sector; previous Fraud Risk Management exposure preferred (not compulsory).
MSME RelationshipGraduation in any discipline is mandatory. Two-year full-time MBA/PGDM in Finance, Marketing, Sales or Banking is preferred, not mandatory.Minimum eight years in banking, including four years in credit processing or sales of loan products at a Bank/NBFC/Financial Institution in India; MSME credit/sales preferred.
Business FinanceGraduation in any discipline PLUS Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification. The notice’s shared education cell gives this as mandatory for the two Finance department positions; specialised management postgraduation/CFA/ICWA/CMA are preferred. At least six years of Business Finance work at a large Bank or large NBFC.
Internal ControlsGraduation in any discipline PLUS Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification per the shared mandatory Finance education cell; PG Management (Finance)/CFA/ICWA/CMA shown as preferences. At least eight years in a Big Four/large/leading accounting firm or banks, working in Accounts, Internal Controls, Internal Audit or Operational Governance Oversight.

Shared credential cells must be read accurately: The first three senior Risk Manager specialities use the shared mandatory CA or full-time MBA/PGDM (or relevant recognised equivalent) route, with CFA/FRM/PRM/ESG/SCR preferences. Fraud Root Cause Analysis has its own data/finance/CA/CS route; Digital Fraud accepts CS/IT/Data Science degree or MCA; MSME Relationship needs any graduation, with full-time MBA/PGDM only preferred. The Finance department has a shared mandatory education cell requiring graduation and CA for its two roles. Preferred CFA, ICWA/CMA or finance postgraduate education does not erase a stated mandatory qualification.

Experience-counting traps: Experience shorter than six months in any one organisation as at 1 October 2026 is excluded unless it forms part of current employment. Clerical-cadre experience and teaching/training are excluded. The Bank asks for post-qualification experience and may reject an unproved claim despite a candidate’s job title. Keep employer letters, joining/release dates, role-specific experience descriptions, pay records and supervisor references ready. A relevant 3-year sub-specialisation condition is not satisfied simply by the total 5/6/8 years in BFSI.

💰 Salary, grades, allowances and the binding three-year service bond

The official table quotes revised officer basic pay scales rather than a guaranteed gross monthly salary. Three different scales apply. DA, allowances and perquisites follow the Bank’s policies and applicable banking settlement; accurate gross, CTC and in-hand salaries are Not specified by this notice.

📊 Post-specific position-table grade distribution

Officer gradePosts
MMG/S-II2
MMG/S-III7

Official-document discrepancy to check: The Senior Manager – MSME Relationship eligibility row on page 2 shows MMG/S-III, but the reservation table later on that same page labels this specific position MMG/S-II. The position-specific grade and the published salary for MMG/S-III are represented here, but the conflict is expressly unresolved. Candidates should seek a Bank of Baroda corrigendum or confirmation rather than treating an editorial assumption as an amendment to the original notice.

After joining, there is 12 months of probation. The published current service bond requires a minimum three years’ service, failing which the officer owes the equivalent of three months’ gross salary, capped at ₹3 lakh. This is a breach obligation and not an application fee; the Bank may revise the bond conditions and provides the binding wording in the offer letter. It is not reasonable to confuse the ₹3 lakh ceiling with a fixed salary figure.

🎂 Age as on 01 October 2026: role-specific limits, then reservation relaxation

The main table’s age ranges are base limits; a qualifying SC/ST candidate can get five years of upper-age relaxation, and eligible OBC-NCL applicants three years. Minimum ages are explicitly specified for each position and must not be lowered by applying upper-age relaxation. Any cumulative relief for certain qualifying ex-servicemen or 1984 riot-affected candidates is subject to the official clause; there are no separate ESM reserved seats in the officers’ cadre.

Examples (not new rules): Manager Digital Fraud is 24–34 years before relief; its advertised vacancies are SC and ST, which carry the relevant five-year upper-age benefit if validly claimed. Senior Manager Business Finance is 28–38 before relief; its seats are SC and OBC, so the applicable upper-age limits depend on which reserved category the candidate actually applies against. Do not assume every category has a vacancy for every post.

💳 Application fee: categorical and non-refundable

Applicant situationFee inclusive of GST (excluding gateway charge)
OBC applicants not otherwise qualifying for reduced fee₹850
SC / ST₹175
PwBD, eligible ESM/DESM or women applicants₹175

A woman in the OBC backlog category is covered by the published women’s reduced-fee rule; this does not create a general-category seat. OBC creamy-layer applicants and EWS/UR applicants cannot claim eligibility for an SC/ST/OBC-only backlog vacancy by paying any fee. The payment gateway may add transaction charges and fees are non-refundable even if the Bank does not conduct an online test or candidate is not shortlisted.

  1. Visit the Bank of Baroda Current Opportunities listing. The Bank publishes the same Advt. 19 separately under Risk Management, MSME Banking and Finance; select the exact position on its recruitment portal. These are three department listing pages for one common advertisement, not three separate 11-seat notices.
  2. Verify one matching SC/ST/OBC-NCL vacancy, base age plus permissible relaxation, mandatory academic pathway, minimum BFSI/banking tenure and specialisation tenure. Apply for only one position under this advertisement.
  3. Use a personal active email/mobile; prepare an updated résumé/biodata, DOB proof, semester-wise academic proof, CA/other credential and proof of detailed professional experience. Category proof must be in the centrally prescribed format. Candidates already employed in Government/PSUs/banks should arrange NOC for interview.
  4. Upload the recent colour photo and black-ink signature per Annexure II. Photograph: preferred 200×230 pixels and 20–50 KB JPG/JPEG. Signature: preferred 140×60 pixels and 10–20 KB, not block capitals. Individual relevant supporting documents are PDF, A4 and up to 500 KB per file per Annexure II.
  5. Review spelling, employment dates, category and post details before clicking Submit. The portal treats submitted fields as final. Pay online using supported card/net banking/UPI, check successful transaction, save receipt and system-generated application.
  6. Keep checking official recruitment page and registered email. No paper application is requested for normal initial submission; call letters are downloaded when notified. Keep originals plus copies for a possible interview/document-verification stage.

🧪 Selection stages: do not confuse "may comprise" with an announced compulsory written exam

The Bank has NOT committed to a specific 2026 online-test pattern. Clause 11 allows application scrutiny, online test, psychometric test, other assessments and Group Discussion and/or personal/multiple interviews at its discretion. Question count, marks, sectional syllabus, exam duration, weighting, centre, penalty/negative marking and exam date are Not specified. Stating 100 questions or a universal banking prelims format would be an invention. There is no announced CBT-1/CBT-2, fixed exam board or designated admit-card release date.

The Bank may shortlist based on domain expertise, relevant work, qualifications, skill and any applicable assessment results. Its shortlisting criteria are internal, and meeting a minimum threshold does not guarantee an interview. If there is a personal interview, the current clause lists a 55% minimum qualifying score for reserved categories, subject to the Bank’s express power to vary the threshold. The 60% provision is for General/EWS, which are not advertised vacancy categories here. Final selection depends on the method actually adopted and clearing all applicable stages; without a defined written-test/interview weightage, no 85:15 or other split may be asserted.

🪪 Conditional call letter, identity check and verification

Online-test/GD/interview call letters, when a stage is actually scheduled, will be available through the Bank’s Career/Current Opportunities page and communicated through website/email. No postal dispatch is promised. Applicants should carry the downloaded call letter plus original accepted photo ID and photocopy; a ration card is not an accepted identity proof. A name change requires supporting Gazette/marriage/affidavit proof as applicable. Original education, category, age, experience and identity documents may be demanded at interview or later. Candidates with an existing public-sector employment commitment require employer NOC; lack of necessary documentary proof can defeat a provisional shortlist.

🔑 Outcomes, answer keys and final result — correct status now

Admit card: Not released/scheduled as of the notification. The possible test or interview call letter is conditional and cannot be promised for a made-up date. Syllabus: No officially published online-test subject outline for Advt. 19. The job-specific skill areas in Annexure I are genuine work responsibilities, not a prescribed exam syllabus. Answer key: Not released and may not arise if no written examination is held. Scorecard/cutoff: Not published; applicant counts, marks and normalisation are unknown. Final result/rank list: Not released. Check the Bank’s own Current Opportunities updates, not an unrelated Bank of Baroda exam series.

🔎 Editorial FAQ — practical issues applicants routinely miss

Is the vacancy count 6+1+4 = 11? Yes. The Bank has three department listings but eight distinct positions within one Advt. 19. Can a general or EWS candidate apply? There are no UR/EWS backlog vacancies. Can I apply for both digital fraud and finance? No; one-position rule. Is a three-year bond fee ₹3 lakh payable at joining? No; it is a conditional early-exit obligation capped at ₹3 lakh. Does every position accept an MBA? No; Fraud Root Cause Analysis, Digital Fraud, MSME Relationship and Finance each have materially different mandatory pathways. Is online exam confirmed? No: Bank reserves discretion to choose method. Are clerk experience years counted? Not toward prescribed eligibility. Is a preferred credential necessary? No, unless it also forms part of a different expressly mandatory pathway. Where are jobs located? Anywhere in India at Bank discretion, not necessarily Mumbai or applicant’s city.

🧾 Experience that must be proved

Five years in the BFSI sector, including at least three years in Project Finance with infrastructure exposure such as roads, ports or power.

  • Evaluate infrastructure credit proposals against bank risk appetite, financial strength and environmental/social/governance considerations.
  • Contribute to project-credit policy, product pricing, credit appraisal templates and turnaround-time improvements.
  • Perform risk-return appraisal, sector monitoring, early-warning analysis and reporting to decision makers.
  • Integrate ESG and business-sustainability inputs into exposure assessment; produce MIS for lending policy.

⚠️ Applicant decision and category caveat

A candidate with only general sales experience cannot substitute it for three years of infrastructure project-finance work. Distinguish direct project funding reviews, sector analysis, cash flow assessment and ESG integration from adjacent back-office functions. Pooled four-post Risk Management senior-manager roster only: SC 1, ST 1, OBC 2 across four distinct one-seat profiles. The notice DOES NOT assign an individual SC/ST/OBC category to this specific post. Check the recruitment application dropdown and official Bank clarification before asserting entitlement.

📋 Why careless applications are rejected

Candidates should prepare year-wise service proof, designation and department/role evidence, relevant degree and professional certificates, valid central SC/ST/OBC-NCL documentation, same-name identity documents and proof of date of birth. Post-qualification experience shorter than six months at a past organisation does not count unless it is the current employer; clerical, teaching and training work cannot be presented as eligible specialist experience. Only one position is permitted under Advt. 19. The Bank may use job-specific screening, interview and/or conditional online/psychometric tests. Neither number of questions nor exam date is published.

Proof-oriented preparation (not an official exam syllabus): Bring concrete, non-confidential examples showing the responsibility areas above, the business issue you addressed, controls and constraints, your personal contribution and the outcome.
