KEA Residual Parent Cadre (RPC) Degree-level Recruitment 2026 — 2,163 Vacancies, Notification 14/2026
Official notification: 29 October 2026 | Online application: 30 October–25 November 2026 | Last fee payment: 26 November 2026 | Recruitment examination: 10 January 2027
Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru, has published a separate Residual Parent Cadre (RPC) notification for 2,163 notified positions in Karnataka departments, institutions and boards. This is one of four related recruitment advertisements, but it has its own vacancy table, qualifications, regional cadre treatment and examination schedule. This page concerns only Notification 14/2026, not the other three KEA recruitments. The source contains 33 department–designation lines; several lines share a designation while belonging to different employers and should not be read as a single interchangeable posting.
📌 Application dates and recruitment examination
Important: The date printed on this advertisement is 29 October, not 2 November. An application opening date is not a notification publication date. Where the separate qualifying Kannada examination applies, its scheduled date is 8 January 2027. It is not automatically required for every applicant. Candidates should examine the relevant schedule and their KEA admission instructions; no separate admit-card release date is asserted here.
🏛️ Which cadre is this?
Residual Parent Cadre (RPC) is the statewide cadre stream excluding the seats separately notified under Kalyana Karnataka where the department has made that division. RPC and KK are two distinct recruitment applications and vacancy baskets: do not add a KK regional entitlement to RPC, or treat the same cadre as available twice.
🎯 Actual vacancy concentration
The largest department–role entry is Accounts Assistant in Karnataka State Audit and Accounts Department (490 positions). Other substantial entries include Warden (Male) in Social Welfare Department (294), First Division Assistant in Judiciary Department (249) and Hostel Superintendent (Male) in Backward Classes Welfare Department (180). These distinctions matter because competition, eligibility and workplace allocation may differ even when both roles are labelled FDA or SDA.

📋 Full department and designation vacancy table
Each entry below corresponds to a numbered row in the official 24-page KEA notice (pages 1–4). Role and department labels are explanatory English renderings of the Kannada vacancy schedule; candidates must use the designation and choice code shown by KEA in its application interface. The numbers and pay scales are reproduced from the signed notice.
The grand total is 2,163, counted once across all 33 entries. A row that prints a base number and an additional labelled number has been included only once at its combined total. For rural-development posts where district-wise breakups appear elsewhere in the PDF, those distributions are subdivisions of their parent row, not extra vacancies.
🎓 Qualification is decided by designation, not by the FDA/SDA headline
The notice contains degree-level clerical posts alongside professional or institution-specific designations. Accounts Assistant should not be equated with a generic non-commerce graduate opening: commerce or listed equivalent courses, such as relevant B.Com/BBM/BBA and recognized alternatives, must be checked against the exact eligibility paragraph. Wardens and hostel superintendents may have gender- or subject-specific entry conditions. Statistical/administrative officers and public-relations roles cannot safely be treated as simply “any graduate.” The post schedule must take priority over any one-line recruitment summary.
Degree equivalence / PUC equivalence: Mere similarity of a course name is insufficient. Preserve the candidate's actual marks card, recognized board or university, subject list and passing date, and use any KEA clarification rather than assuming a neighboring post has identical entry requirements.
💰 Salary: distinguish government pay scale from take-home pay
The notified base pay-scale bracket for most graduate-level vacancy rows is ₹44,425–₹83,700. Some specific posts in the detailed table carry higher pay scales; these are shown against their own rows and are not a promise that every post receives the highest listed scale. A pay scale is not equal to a monthly consolidated salary or actual bank-credit amount: joining, basic pay stage, allowances, deductions and prevailing government provisions affect the net figure. Never treat the highest endpoint as starting pay.
🗓️ Age eligibility and relaxation
Minimum age: 18 years. The notification gives 40 years for General Merit, 43 years for Category 2A/2B/3A/3B, and 45 years for SC/ST and Category-1, subject to its detailed age-rule and special categories. Special relaxations for eligible service persons, disability and other prescribed classes follow documentary conditions. The advertisement should be consulted for the official age-calculation date; a date is not inferred from the online application opening.
The three rows compare different categories, not components of one total; therefore a pie chart of age relaxations would be misleading.
💳 Application fees and payment
The ₹250 processing component described in the notice is part of the notified fee provisions; do not add another ₹250 on top of the listed applicable total without checking KEA payment instructions. Payment closes on 26 November 2026, a day after applications close. An unsuccessful payment should not be assumed to produce a completed application.
📝 Examination: confirmed schedule, but different papers and conditions
KEA has scheduled the written examination for 10 January 2027 in this cadre/level. The notice lists Paper 1 and Paper 2, with the detailed Kannada syllabus, timing, question format and negative-marking rule. The language-eligibility assessment is listed for 8 January 2027 where applicable; it must be assessed separately; a qualifying Kannada component should not be confused with the two papers used for competitive ranking. Where one paper is a language qualification, the score/qualifying rule controls candidate eligibility, rather than an automatic extra merit component.
The two competitive papers are shown in the notice as 100 marks each. A penalty of 0.25 mark for a wrong answer is described under negative evaluation. Candidates should distinguish a scheduled examination date from an admit-card date, which is not established by this document.
📄 Documentary readiness and application workflow
- Choose Notification 14/2026 and the correct Residual Parent Cadre (RPC) option through the official KEA recruitment portal; verify department and post choice before payment.
- Match the qualifying degree/PUC, branch and optional subjects exactly to the post-specific table. Keep qualification and reservation evidence ready.
- Ensure name, birth date, category and address are identical across prescribed certificates and the application form; follow the notice's certificate issuing-authority requirements.
- Save proof of successful online submission and payment reference. Keep the full application copy and transaction receipt; a saved draft is not a submitted candidature.
- Check KEA's notifications for examination admission instructions and document-verification dates rather than relying on social-media circulations.
⚖️ Practical questions candidates should resolve before choosing a post
A. Several departments use the same post title. A candidate qualified for an SDA or FDA post in one department should not infer equivalent reservation or optional-subject eligibility for another. Pay scales and job duties can vary, and the KEA application choices may be distinct.
B. One district table does not mean more vacancies. Rural-development rows have district/office distributions; adding those subrows on top of the parent department total would inflate the count. For this notification, the published total remains 2,163.
C. A higher pay-scale post is not automatically open to general graduates. Specialized diploma, course combinations, statistics/computer qualifications or work experience can restrict eligibility. The proper comparison is your specific degree against the advertised individual designation.
D. The four KEA notices are separate competitive pools. Applying under one notification does not amount to a completed application in another. The regional-cadre condition, fee and paper date must be checked individually.
🏛️ Responsibility after selection
The advertised vacancies arise across different Karnataka government departments and institutions. Appointment conditions, cadre, posting, verification and pay are governed by the recruiting department's rules in addition to KEA's examination process. A vacancy in one parent department is not a promise of placement at a candidate's preferred district, and departmental duty profiles are not identical merely because the examination is centralized.
