Exactly which position lines attend this day?
| Notified line | Posts | Stated base rupees per month |
|---|---|---|
| Project Associate-I (PAT-I) — Electronics / Electrical / CS / Instrumentation / Control | 9 | 25000 |
| Project Associate-II (PAT-II) — Electronics / Controls / CS / RF / Microwave | 5 | 28000 |
| Project Assistant-II (PA-II) — ECE / CS / IT Instrumentation Support | 3 | 20000 |
| Project Assistant-II (PA-II) — Photography / Videography / Editing | 1 | 20000 |
| Project Associate-II (PAT-II NET/GATE) — Computer Vision / Camera Gimbal | 1 | 35000 |
| Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT) — Computer Vision / UAV Remote Sensing | 1 | 42000 |
Each candidate must match the qualification and discipline of the particular line. A shared date does not create a pooled eligibility list across Fitter, project associate, engineering and research grades. If applying for more than one suitable position, the official notice requires a separately completed form for each.
Preparation tied to the jobs, not to an invented exam syllabus
Project Associate-I (PAT-I) — Electronics / Electrical / CS / Instrumentation / Control (9): Embedded electronics; controllers, microprocessors, power electronics, sensor and hardware test; ArduPilot/PX4, control-model development, AI for electromagnetic applications, aerospace subsystem R&D and virtual-lab content. Useful technical discussion: Sketch how a sensor reading travels through an embedded controller to an actuator command; name the checks that would catch a wiring fault, unit mismatch or unstable control loop. Records: Engineering/Technology Bachelor’s degree in an advertised discipline (or duly recognised equivalent) and a portfolio of real testing, coding, embedded-board or control work.
Project Associate-II (PAT-II) — Electronics / Controls / CS / RF / Microwave (5): Wind-tunnel controls and data acquisition, LabVIEW, software integration, flight-control-law simulation, real-time and non-real-time MATLAB/Simulink models, antenna–radome electromagnetic analysis. Useful technical discussion: Explain how you would verify the calibration and timing of a sensor-to-DAQ pipeline or how a model-in-the-loop simulation can miss faults that appear on an actual hardware interface. Records: Original degree and (for the Bachelor’s pathway) two years of relevant R&D documentation, with reproducible simulation plots, LabVIEW test logs or RF measurement notes if available.
Project Assistant-II (PA-II) — ECE / CS / IT Instrumentation Support (3): Wiring instrumentation, sensor mounting and computer-programming support. Useful technical discussion: Describe the checks before energising a newly wired sensor, from connector polarity to measurement verification and documentation of the tested channel. Records: B.Sc. or three-year Engineering/Technology Diploma in relevant area, plus safe wiring/instrumentation examples when genuinely studied or performed.
Project Assistant-II (PA-II) — Photography / Videography / Editing (1): Photography, videography and editing for laboratory/project communication. Useful technical discussion: Explain how you would produce a short, clear laboratory demonstration video that accurately shows a test sequence while preserving annotations and original footage. Records: Completed B.Sc. or three-year Diploma and a small, authentic photo/video sample set if available; clearly state your editing contribution.
Project Associate-II (PAT-II NET/GATE) — Computer Vision / Camera Gimbal (1): Python computer vision, deep-learning networks, socket communication for camera-gimbal control, Linux/edge-computing boards and ArduPilot/PX4 integration. Useful technical discussion: Trace camera frame capture through detection, network command and gimbal movement, including how the system handles latency, lost packets and false detections. Records: Applicable valid NET/GATE scorecard, Engineering degree and qualifying R&D record for the Bachelor’s route, or Engineering/Technology Master’s, plus authentic project descriptions.
Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT) — Computer Vision / UAV Remote Sensing (1): Python-based embedded computation on NVIDIA/Raspberry platforms, aerial/hyperspectral image processing into high-resolution maps and computer-vision/deep-learning models for crop/pest classification, with PX4 integration. Useful technical discussion: Describe an end-to-end aerial imagery experiment: image capture, metadata, map alignment, labelled training and genuinely held-out test data, model deployment and monitoring of classification errors. Records: Three years R&D after Engineering Bachelor’s OR Engineering/Technology Master’s plus two years; substantive evidence of embedded or computer-vision R&D, with valid experience certificates.
What is formally announced about screening?
The selection is based on performance in the interview or another criterion the selection committee deems appropriate. If many candidates attend, a written screening test or other shortlisting criterion may be used. The original advertisement does not define its topics, timing, qualifying marks, negative marking, board-paper type, date or answer key. Therefore, preparation areas above describe the advertised technical assignments; they are not an officially notified examination syllabus.
Document and timing checklist
Bring the filled position-specific application; a recent passport photograph; Aadhaar or other Government photo identification; original qualifying-degree/10th/ITI/diploma certificate with all marksheets, all relevant experience certificates, valid NET/GATE proof where the position/pay distinction uses it, and category/age-relaxation documents if claimed. Bring one photocopy set. Existing CSIR-lab project workers need their Project Leader/HOD NOC. Final examination results pending on this day mean ineligibility. If the candidate claims an equivalent qualification, the issuing authority and reference number/date in the equivalence order must be documented. The interview could continue to the next day if the day's proceedings are not completed, so plan travel accordingly. No TA/DA is payable.
What follows the interview?
The laboratory may publish selected candidates and a waiting-list panel on its official site; panel validity is up to one year and carries no guarantee of a project seat. Any selected candidate must present original records and coordinate with the Recruitment Section within 15 days. Work is temporary, project-linked and without a right to permanent employment.
