Vijayapura District Court Peon 2026 — SSLC Shortlisting and 10-Mark Interview Guide

Recruitment 01/2026 · Post: Peon / Jawana · 30 seats · Vijayapura District Judiciary

The actual recruitment method is qualifying-examination percentage shortlisting, followed by a 10-mark interview. The original 13-page Kannada notice does not declare a separate written paper, specified MCQ questions, fixed written duration, negative marking, paper language, topic-wise marks distribution or an officially prescribed written syllabus. The candidate lists and interview programme have not yet been scheduled in the published notification.

Stage one: understanding the SSLC marks shortlisting

Candidates with the necessary SSLC/approved Class 10 equivalence and Kannada read-and-write ability are first considered according to their qualifying examination percentage. The court uses approximately 10 candidates for every vacancy, within the notified reservations. It is therefore important to treat category eligibility and marks accuracy as a single problem, not separate formalities.

For example, a fictional applicant with 470 marks out of 625 has 75.20%, but this numerical calculation is illustrative only: the notice does not establish a 75.20% cutoff or make this hypothetical applicant eligible for an interview. Another fictional applicant with 420 out of 600 has 70%; these percentages cannot be compared using informal grade conversions. What matters is the correctly supported percentage under the candidate's own board and Karnataka equivalence rules.

An applicant whose qualifying certificate uses grades or CGPA should obtain the competent board's official marks/percentage conversion by 4 December 2026. NIOS or KOS qualification claims may require recognised-institution proof. A final-year student still awaiting SSLC/10th results at the deadline is not eligible.

Stage two: the actual ten-mark interview

Official maximum: 10 marks. Official date, time and venue: not specified in the original notification. Official question-wise marking scheme: not specified. The notice says that final selection is based on the marks scored at interview, following the academic-mark shortlist. It does not announce an additional qualifying percentage, a fixed passing mark of 5/10 or a written-plus-interview combined formula.

Useful interview readiness — examples, not an official syllabus

Because this is a district judicial unit Peon/Jawana post with mandatory Kannada reading and writing, the applicant can reasonably prepare to communicate clearly in Kannada about their identity, education and ability to follow routine instructions. Other practical interview preparation may include punctuality, care with official documents, professional courtesy, honesty and confidentiality, but the court has not published these as official assessed topics or a fixed question list. These are general readiness suggestions, not advance knowledge of what its interview panel will ask.

Good personal preparation: practise a brief factual introduction in Kannada; check spelling of the name and birth date against SSLC records; keep the mark sheet and reservation documents arranged; understand what any claimed rural, sports, PwD or other special reservation means in the applicant's own official documents; and travel only after the actual interview call is published.

Document-proof checks that can stop a candidate despite good marks

  • SSLC board and marks: original certificate, mark sheet, and valid equivalence/recognition where required.
  • Kannada literacy: the candidate must possess the advertised ability to read and write Kannada.
  • Reservation: SC/ST Form-D, Category-1 Form-E, and eligible backward-class Form-F certificates as applicable. In addition, rural reservation may need school/headmaster and education-authority certification and specific forms for General Merit claimants.
  • Special concessions: qualifying disability medical-board certificate, ex-servicemen release record, sports certificate, project-displacement evidence, or recognised transgender certificate, only where claimed.
  • Identity and service: photo identification and consistent application particulars; existing employees should comply with the applicable NOC rule.

The notification asks candidates for the SSLC marks-card scan in PDF, a recent JPG photo and handwritten signature in stated dimensions. Submitting the application does not itself establish that any claimed reservation has been accepted.

How to interpret the 1:10 ratio correctly

The ratio concerns the number of candidates invited to the interview, not a guarantee that exactly 300 people across every category must attend. Some seats are earmarked for specialised horizontal categories, and the court may apply the notice's provisions where eligible candidates for a marked reservation are unavailable. Each candidate should check the official issued shortlist, rather than estimating personal chances from overall applicant totals.

What comes after the interview?

The court will verify original education and reservation documents as required, prepare selection-related proceedings and publish genuine official notices. The advertisement refers to appointment conditions including two-year probation and NPS. It does not establish a result date or create an admit-card schedule in advance. Only subsequent judicial-unit recruitment notices can establish interview call lists, changes, final selection lists or appointments.
