About this Recruitment
Recruitment-specific overview from the published record.
HPRCA CBSE-Affiliated Schools Teacher Engagement 2026 — 2,423 Posts (Advertisement 14/2026)
Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur | Directorate of School Education, Himachal Pradesh | Official advertisement dated 2 November 2026.
What this recruitment actually offers
The Directorate of School Education is engaging subject teachers for CBSE-affiliated Government schools under a scheme-based temporary arrangement for five years. These are not regular sanctioned government teaching posts: appointees are not treated as Government employees under the scheme, have no right of regularisation and cannot assume CCS/CCA, ordinary service leave or pension rights. The notified fixed honorarium is ₹30,000 per month for ten months in an academic year, not an unconditional twelve-month salary. School postings may be across Himachal Pradesh as the department requires. The 15 subject-specific post codes and 2,423 vacancies are tentative, subject to change.
Who should consider applying? Candidates meeting the exact academic subject, professional-teaching and TET requirements of their individual post code; Computer, Physical Education and Fine Arts have materially different eligible pathways. Read the separate academic qualifications rather than applying a universal MA+B.Ed.+TET rule to every vacancy.

How to interpret the chart: Mathematics has 281 vacancies, larger than any other single subject; Fine Arts has 172. There are six subjects with 187 each, three with 156 each, four with 95 each, one with 281 and one with 172. Candidates must choose their academically eligible subject, not merely the largest quota.
Category roster, HP reservation and a printed Economics discrepancy
The official subject-wise roster is more specific than five broad categories: it lists Gen(UR), Gen(WFF), EWS, SC(UR), SC(BPL), SC(WFF), OBC(UR), OBC(BPL), occasionally OBC(WFF), ST(UR) and ST(BPL) as applicable. WFF indicates Ward of Freedom Fighter and BPL indicates Below Poverty Line. The entries are the breakdown within the published subject total, not an additional set of posts to add on top.
Illustration — Mathematics, post code 26047, 281 vacancies:
| Category as printed | Count |
|---|---|
| Gen(UR) | 104 |
| EWS | 36 |
| Gen(WFF) | 4 |
| SC(WFF) | 2 |
| SC(UR) | 56 |
| SC(BPL) | 10 |
| OBC(UR) | 46 |
| OBC(BPL) | 10 |
| ST(UR) | 10 |
| ST(BPL) | 3 |
The complete reservation breakdown is stated separately for each subject. Eligibility for HP reserved-category benefits is governed by Himachal Pradesh residence and valid certificates; candidates belonging to reserved categories of other states are treated as General (UR) for this recruitment. OBC-NCL, IRDP/BPL, EWS and WFF claims must satisfy the certificate validity conditions at BOTH the application closing date and document verification.
Published discrepancy that applicants should know: For Economics (26051) the printed subject total is 156, but the detailed roster on page 6 uses Gen(UR) 57 and the full category entries add to 157. The advertised 2,423 aggregate follows the subject total of 156. This is an inconsistency in the notice itself, not an extra confirmed vacancy. An Economics candidate should obtain the Commission’s clarification or a corrigendum before relying on the General (UR) sub-count.
For English/Mathematics, the separate teacher sub-scheme is identified as School Education Notification EDN-B-A(1)-3/2025 dated 19 January 2026. Other subjects follow the scheme notified under EDN-B-A(1)-3/2025 dated 1 April 2026, as reproduced in the advertisement. The detailed scheme terms, as distinct from recruitment eligibility, remain governing.
Academic qualifications: do not apply one formula across all 15 subjects
English Teacher — Post 26046 (187 vacancies)
M.A./M.Sc. in English, with the notice specifying 50% marks at graduation level; B.Ed. (integrated B.A.B.Ed./B.Com.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed. accepted) with English compulsory in B.Ed. The notice separately requires at least 50% graduation (including B.Ed.), at least 55% marks in English at graduation level and a passed Teacher Eligibility Test held by HPBOSE Dharamshala, Kangra, or another Government-authorised agency. For SC/ST/OBC candidates the printed English-specific concession says at least 45% in graduation and B.Ed., and at least 50% in English at graduation. These percentages must be checked individually; a generic MA/B.Ed statement misses the subject-specific conditions.
Applicant check: Check the separate 55% graduation-level English subject threshold (50% for specified SC/ST/OBC), not merely the general 50% degree threshold.
Mathematics Teacher — Post 26047 (281 vacancies)
M.A./M.Sc. Mathematics. B.Ed. or the mentioned integrated B.A.B.Ed./B.Com.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed. route with Mathematics as compulsory subject in B.Ed. The page requires at least 50% graduation including B.Ed., at least 55% in Mathematics at graduation level, and passing the Teacher Eligibility Test run by HPBOSE or another authorised agency. SC/ST/OBC concession printed here: at least 45% marks in graduation and B.Ed. and at least 50% in Mathematics at graduation level. Candidates must confirm the Mathematics subject marks independently from their overall degree percentage.
Applicant check: The Mathematics-at-graduation 55% condition (50% with printed SC/ST/OBC concession) is separate from the overall graduation/B.Ed. cutoff.
Teacher (Hindi) — Post 26048 (187 vacancies)
Master’s degree in Hindi from a recognised university with minimum 50% aggregate, B.Ed. as professional qualification from a recognised university/institution with minimum 50% marks, passed TET conducted by HPBOSE or another Government-authorised agency, plus proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. The notice provides up to five percentage points of relaxation in minimum educational marks for HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories.
Applicant check: Verify both postgraduation and B.Ed. percentages and the TET pass record; Hindi/English teaching proficiency is expressly stated.
Teacher (Political Science) — Post 26049 (156 vacancies)
A Master’s degree in the concerned subject Political Science from a recognised university with minimum 50% aggregate, recognised B.Ed. with minimum 50%, and passed TET of HPBOSE or another Government-authorised body. Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English is specified. A relaxation of up to five percentage points in minimum educational marks is noted for HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.
Applicant check: The specified degree is Political Science; do not presume unrelated humanities postgraduates qualify.
Teacher (History) — Post 26050 (156 vacancies)
Master’s degree in History from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate, B.Ed. with at least 50% marks, passed TET issued by HPBOSE or a Government-authorised agency, and Hindi/English teaching proficiency. The printed minimum academic marks may be relaxed up to five percentage points for HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories.
Applicant check: History is its own post code 26050; select that exact code when applying.
Teacher (Economics) — Post 26051 (156 vacancies)
A Master’s degree specifically in Economics, Applied Economics, or Business Economics from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate; recognised B.Ed. with at least 50%; TET passed through HPBOSE or another Government-authorised agency; proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. The notice allows up to five percentage points educational minimum-marks relaxation for HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates. Important: the Economics vacancy roster on page 6 prints General(UR) 57 and component entries adding to 157 but prints Total=156; obtain an official clarification before treating category-specific counts as reconciled.
Applicant check: The official Economics row has a numeric roster discrepancy: the printed entries total 157 while the declared subject total is 156. Verify any corrigendum before a category-specific decision.
Teacher (Physics) — Post 26052 (95 vacancies)
Master’s degree in Physics, Electronics, or Nuclear Physics with minimum 50% aggregate at a recognised university, a recognised B.Ed. at minimum 50%, and passed TET through HPBOSE or another Government-authorised agency. Hindi and English teaching proficiency is printed, as is relaxation of up to five percentage points in academic qualifying marks for HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.
Applicant check: Unlike a generic Physics-only summary, the advertisement expressly lists Electronics and Nuclear Physics as eligible Master’s subjects.
Teacher (Chemistry) — Post 26053 (95 vacancies)
Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with at least 50% aggregate from a recognised university, recognised B.Ed. with at least 50% marks, passed TET of HPBOSE or Government-authorised agency, and Hindi/English teaching proficiency. Academic minimum-mark relaxation up to five percentage points is mentioned for HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.
Applicant check: Biochemistry is explicitly included at postgraduate level; retain evidence of that exact subject as printed on the degree.
Teacher (Biology) — Post 26054 (187 vacancies)
Master’s degree with minimum 50% aggregate in Botany, Zoology, Life Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or Plant Physiology. The advertisement adds an essential condition that applicants must have studied both Botany and Zoology at graduation level. Also required are recognised B.Ed. with at least 50%, passed HPBOSE/authorised TET and Hindi/English teaching proficiency. An academic minimum-mark relaxation up to five percentage points applies to specified Himachal Pradesh SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.
Applicant check: The compulsory Botany AND Zoology undergraduate study condition is in addition to the permitted Master’s subject list.
Teacher (Sanskrit) — Post 26055 (187 vacancies)
Master’s in the concerned subject Sanskrit with minimum 50% aggregate, B.Ed. with minimum 50%, passed HPBOSE or Government-authorised TET, and proficiency in teaching Hindi and English. The source continues the same clause on page 14 and notes up to five percentage points qualification-marks relaxation for specified HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.
Applicant check: The Sanskrit TET/B.Ed. conditions continue on the following PDF page; they are not optional.
Teacher (Computer) — Post 26056 (95 vacancies)
The advertised alternatives are: (1) B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognised institution with at least 50% aggregate; OR (2) B.E./B.Tech in any stream PLUS a postgraduate diploma in Computer Science/Technology/Applications from recognised institution with at least 50% aggregate; OR (3) M.Sc. Computer Science or MCA with at least 50%; OR (4) postgraduate degree in Mathematics or Physics PLUS a postgraduate diploma in Computer Science/Applications with at least 50%; OR (5) DOEACC Society, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, B- or C-level course with at least 50% aggregate. Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English is also specified. The notice does not separately print B.Ed. or TET as compulsory for this Computer post; do not impose the subject-teacher rule on it. Qualification marks relaxation up to five percentage points is printed for specified HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.
Applicant check: These are OR pathways, not three simultaneous mandatory degrees. Keep evidence for every component of the selected pathway; no universal B.Ed./TET requirement is printed here.
Teacher (Music) — Post 26057 (95 vacancies)
Master’s degree in Vocal or Instrumental Music with at least 50% aggregate, recognised B.Ed. at least 50%, HPBOSE/authorised TET pass, Hindi and English teaching proficiency. Minimum qualifying academic marks may be relaxed up to five percentage points for specified Himachal Pradesh SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories.
Applicant check: The Master’s discipline must be Vocal or Instrumental Music; a generic arts postgraduate degree is not a listed substitute.
Teacher (Commerce) — Post 26058 (187 vacancies)
Master’s degree in Accountancy, Financial Accountancy and Income Tax, or MFC (Master of Finance Control) with minimum 50% aggregate; B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks; passed HPBOSE/authorised TET; and proficiency teaching Hindi and English. Minimum educational marks relaxation up to five percentage points is stated for eligible HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories.
Applicant check: Verify the exact listed Commerce Master’s specialisation rather than assuming any MBA or M.Com title automatically qualifies.
Teacher (Physical Education) — Post 26059 (187 vacancies)
The notice provides multiple distinct pathways. (A) B.P.Ed., Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE), or B.Sc. in Health and Physical Education and Degree in Sports with at least 55% per the NCTE 2009 recognition rules; OR (B) B.P.Ed. at least 50%, or integrated four-year B.P.Ed., under NCTE 2007 regulations; OR (C) B.P.Ed. at least 55% in the three-year B.P.E. course, with at least 50% in line with NCTE 2002 regulations; OR (D) one-year Diploma in Physical Education (DPEd) under NCTE norms PLUS an M.P.Ed./M.A. Physical Education of at least two years from an NCTE-recognised institute. These alternatives must not be combined as though every applicant needs all credentials. Proficiency teaching Hindi and English and relaxation up to five percentage points for specified HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD applicants are also stated. The page does not state a general TET or general B.Ed. requirement for this post.
Applicant check: Verify which NCTE year/regulation your credential fits; Diploma-only without the additional specified Master’s does not satisfy the printed DPEd route.
Teacher (Fine Arts) — Post 26060 (172 vacancies)
Two qualification routes are printed: (1) a Master’s degree in Fine Arts/Visual Arts (Painting and Sculpture) with at least 50% marks from a recognised university; OR (2) Higher Secondary/Intermediate/Senior School Certificate examination PLUS a five-year FULL-TIME or seven-year PART-TIME Diploma in Fine Arts/Painting from a recognised university/institute with at least 50% marks. The source does not specify a two-year diploma. A relaxation up to five percentage points is stated for HP SC/ST/OBC/PwD applicants. No separate TET/B.Ed. blanket requirement is printed under Fine Arts.
Applicant check: The advertised diploma alternative is FIVE years full-time or SEVEN years part-time, alongside 10+2. A short certificate is not shown as equivalent.
Age, regional schooling condition and certificate rules
Age: 18–45 years as of 1 January 2026. The notice refers to Government of Himachal Pradesh reservation and relaxation rules; it does not provide a single numerical age-relaxation table for all classes. Do not assume a relaxation not supported by your applicable certificate or departmental rules.
Matriculation and 10+2 schooling location: A candidate must have passed both examinations from a school/institution situated in Himachal Pradesh; the condition is exempted for Bonafide Himachalis. This is a location-of-qualifying-school test, not a statement that only HP-born applicants may apply. Reservation and fee-concession benefits do not extend to outside-state reserved-category claimants under the notice.
Certificate-validity warning: HP OBC-NCL certificate must be valid both on 5 December and at verification. The source notes IRDP/BPL validity of six months from issue; EWS certificates ordinarily cover the specified financial year and may require fresh issue each cycle. Parental-basis caste certification and correctly documented HP category status are important. A claimant unable to furnish a valid certificate at verification may lose the claimed category and be considered under another category only subject to the specific conditions, differential fee and cutoff rules.
120-question screening test and qualifying thresholds
The stated selection mode is a Computer Based Test (CBT) or written/OMR objective screening test, 120 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each, normally 90 minutes. The paper draws from the applicable subject/qualification-level field, Himachal Pradesh and general knowledge, current affairs, everyday science, reasoning, social science and general English/Hindi at matriculation standard. The notice does not assign a numerical mark split to these sections. Negative marking is not specified in this advertisement; check the later examination instructions rather than presuming an unrelated exam penalty.
📊 CBT minimum qualifying marks out of 120
| Qualification group | Marks out of 120 |
|---|---|
| General category initial qualifying marks | 54 |
| SC/ST/OBC/WFF initial qualifying marks | 48 |
The initial qualifying benchmark is 45% (54/120) for General and 40% (48/120) for SC/ST/OBC/WFF. The Commission may, if candidates above that benchmark are insufficient, relax the qualifying percentage by at most five percentage points to 40% (48/120) for General and 35% (42/120) for the specified reserved groups. This is a conditional discretion, not an automatic cutoff. Merit/shortlisting depends on the applicable score and competition, not merely crossing these minimum marks.
Where CBT runs in multiple shifts, HPRCA states that it will normalize marks using a Z-score / mean-standard-deviation method. The notice prints Xn = (S2/S1) × (X − Xav) + Yav, with shift-average and standard-deviation definitions. A high raw score alone must therefore not be compared across shifts as if no normalization took place.
No new exam date is declared. Provisional answer keys may be published after response-sheet freezing, with seven days for objections and ₹200 non-refundable per challenged answer-key item if that process is opened. Requests for rechecking/re-evaluation are not entertained. The Commission may choose OMR over CBT depending on application volumes.
Document verification, merit, preference and waiting panel
Admission to a test is provisional. Shortlisted applicants must produce original certificates and self-attested copies at documentation. For multiple departments or districts under common examination, preferences may be recorded at verification and allocation is based on merit, candidate option and post availability. HP reservation and Meritorious Reserved Candidate (MRC) rules can affect allocation. A subject/category waiting list is envisaged for one year from recommendations; for advertised groups above 50 vacancies the printed waiting-panel rule is 10% of advertised posts with a minimum of eight candidates (fractions rounded up). Those on the panel are not assured appointment.
At verification, candidates must disclose legal proceedings or convictions when required by the instructions. Any concealment, forged certificate or prohibited unfair means can lead to cancellation and further action under the published rules.
Fees and online correction
| Fee | Amount | What it covers |
|---|---|---|

| Processing fee | ₹700 | All categories |
| Total at first submission | ₹800 | Online payment only; non-refundable |
| Correcting an ORA during the announced correction window | ₹100 | Per the portal correction procedure |

- Choose preferred exam district(s), understanding that exam-centre assignment remains subject to HPRCA availability and discretion.
- Review all prefilled details, especially name, date of birth, school location, postgraduate subject, B.Ed./TET where required, and category before confirming.
- Pay the ₹800 fee through the official portal gateway.
- Check submission confirmation, retain the receipt and save/print the completed ORA for documentation.
Image-upload sizes: a recent colour passport photograph (not older than one month) and scanned signature must be JPG, JPEG or PNG, each no more than 1 MB. Name, father’s/mother’s names and date of birth must correspond to the matriculation certificate. Important notices come via the registered mobile/email and official HPRCA website; no separate postal reminder is guaranteed.
Document checklist before submission and verification
Keep the matriculation certificate (age), 10+2 certificates (including proof of school location where applicable), subject-specific postgraduate/undergraduate degrees, all year/semester marksheets, B.Ed. or alternative regulated professional qualification, relevant TET proof, exact diploma/DOEACC recognition (Computer/PE/Fine Arts alternatives), category and residence certificates, IRDP/BPL/EWS/OBC-NCL/WFF evidence as applicable, any employment declarations/NOC if regularly employed in Government service, and passport photo/signature. Experience certificates matter only when an applicable condition is expressly notified; when required they must cover post-qualification experience and proper authority verification.
Candidates with eligible disabilities who need a scribe or compensatory time must seek HPRCA prior authorisation at least 15 days before the CBT with the specified proforma and supporting documents. The notice specifies up to 20 minutes compensatory time per complete examination hour, prorated for the test duration, subject to approval. Do not plan to arrange a new scribe after arriving at the centre.
Common mistakes applicants should avoid
Treating these as permanent teaching jobs: the engagement scheme explicitly denies regularisation rights. Using ₹30,000 × 12 as assured yearly pay: ten paid months are stated. Choosing a subject by vacancy volume alone: each post code has exact academic eligibility; Biology requires both Botany and Zoology at graduation, and Fine Arts requires a very long diploma under one alternative. Presuming TET for every title: Computer, Physical Education and Fine Arts list their own routes. Claiming Himachal reservation using another state’s category certificate: outside-state reserved categories are treated as General. Assuming a published examination date: none is notified here. Overlooking the Economics roster inconsistency: its subcategory table does not match its printed 156 total.
Official portal: https://hprca.hp.gov.in/ . Applications and corrections must be completed through the Commission’s site. The official advertisement is HPRCA Advertisement 14/2026 dated 2 November 2026. For queries the notice gives 01972-222204 and hp-rca@hp.gov.in, working days 10 AM–5 PM.
