Objective examination and interview
There is no penalty for wrong answers. The separate paper timings apply. Both papers contribute to the written score used in final merit; English is not identified as a qualifying-only paper.
Professional Knowledge syllabus
The notified areas are Fire Engineering at the prescribed DO/IFE/fire-engineering qualification level, Fire Service Administration, and Fire Service Regulatory Acts/Bylaws. No unit-wise marks split is published. Use the required job skills—pumps, hydrants, detection, alarms, sprinklers, evacuation and audits—to connect technical revision with professional practice. These practical links are preparation guidance, not additional officially weighted syllabus units.
Final score
Interview carries 100 marks, with qualifying marks decided by SBI. Candidates qualifying in the written test are called category-wise in numbers decided by the bank. Final merit weights the written examination 70 and interview 30.
Final score = (written marks / 125 × 70) + (interview marks / 100 × 30). Written 100 and interview 70 produce 77/100. This example is not a cutoff prediction. A cutoff tie is resolved by descending age. SBI reserves the right to change the method, including shortlisting and interview.
