A single examination for nine MTS departmental posts
The MTS selection route uses one general written/CBT stage, not the Junior Engineer Two-Tier technical examination. The Directorate of Education has separate General Duty and Aaya (Female) posts under the same code, and other departments have smaller MTS allocations. Candidates are ultimately assessed for each department according to the special post requirement and their confirmed preferences. The examination score gives the merit basis, but it does not waive an age, eligibility, female-designated-post or category certificate rule.
📊 MTS One-Tier: equal allocation to five subjects
| Official component | Marks |
|---|---|
| General Awareness | 40 |
| General Intelligence & Reasoning | 40 |
| Arithmetical & Numerical Ability | 40 |
| Hindi Language & Comprehension | 40 |
| English Language & Comprehension | 40 |
General Awareness — 40 questions/40 marks
The board identifies a broad General Awareness section. To prepare methodically, cover general Indian and Delhi public affairs, basic Indian constitutional arrangements, history and geography, everyday science, environmental matters, government programmes and major contemporary developments. These are illustrative revision subjects derived from the official broad heading; no exact date range or chapter weightage is published for current affairs in the source advertisement. Separate verified facts from rumours and avoid memorising speculative examination dates as current affairs.
General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability — 40 questions/40 marks
Train to recognise patterns, analogies, letter/number series, coding, classification, ordering, direction, blood relationships and straightforward logical deductions. These are common reasoning practice formats, not a formally exhaustive list in the 32-page notification. Maintain a consistent technique: identify all stated conditions, separate what must follow from what merely could follow, and avoid overcomplicating quick one-mark items.
Arithmetical & Numerical Ability — 40 questions/40 marks
A useful preparation range includes basic number operations, decimals/fractions, ratio-proportion, percentages, averages, interest, discount/profit-loss, time-and-work, speed-and-distance and interpretation of simple numbers in tables or charts. Again, the official advertisement fixes the broad subject and 40-mark allocation, not an individual topic-by-topic blueprint. For a 120-minute examination, practise short calculations and elimination before committing a response, because incorrect choices trigger a penalty.
Hindi Language & Comprehension — 40 questions/40 marks
Review Hindi grammar and usage, शब्द-विन्यास, उपयुक्त शब्द-चयन, वाक्य-शुद्धि, पर्यायवाची/विलोम, शब्दार्थ और अपठित गद्यांश-बोध through realistic practice exercises. These are study recommendations within the named Hindi language/comprehension field, not a claim that DSSSB has separately assigned precise marks to each grammar chapter. Questions in this language section follow the concerned language, unlike the otherwise bilingual portions.
English Language & Comprehension — 40 questions/40 marks
Prioritise vocabulary in context, grammar, appropriate prepositions and verb forms, sentence correction, short passages and logical reading of meaning. A focused practice technique is to reread one sentence for context before selecting a word-level correction: speed is valuable, but careless choices cost marks. The source does not supply a mandated textbook, authors or a chapter-wise question distribution.
Marking, final merit and further scrutiny
One mark per question; 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong marked answer. The DSSSB minimum qualifying thresholds are 40% General/EWS, 35% Delhi OBC and 30% SC/ST/PwBD, while eligible ex-servicemen can receive a five-percentage-point reduction subject to the 30% floor. The One-Tier marks determine the MTS final merit subject to actual category cutoffs and the reservation roster. In a tie, the older candidate ranks first; if dates of birth are equal, alphabetical ordering of the first name in English resolves the tie.
After results, department preferences and e-dossier verification become decisive. For example, an applicant cannot convert a 239-seat Aaya (Female) preference into General Duty after the choice is confirmed; nor can a candidate claim a Delhi OBC seat with an ineligible out-of-Delhi OBC certificate. DUSIB additionally accepts a recognised ITI pass as an alternative to Class X, while the other listed departments primarily state Matriculation. None of these qualifications are tested by a separately announced trade practical for this notice.
Date status: The MTS exam date, admit card and result have not been announced in Advertisement 06/2026. No earlier DSSSB MTS examination date should be treated as the date for post code 810/26.
