RRB NTPC Graduate CEN 06/2026 - 3,548 Posts: Typing Test Removed, One-RRB Lock & Ranchi 377 Analysis
RRB CEN 06/2026 now has 3,548 Graduate NTPC vacancies in the detailed notice, replacing the earlier 3,477 indicative total. Goods Train Manager alone contributes 2,750 seats (77.51%), while RRB Ranchi has 377 seats of which 360 are GTM. Applications run 08 October to 06 November 2026, 23:59. The current cycle uses CBT-1, CBT-2 and DV/medical; CBTST for JAA/Senior Clerk has been removed, but post-joining typing/computer proficiency is still expected. Age is 18-33 as on 01 January 2027.

About this Recruitment
Recruitment-specific overview from the published record.
RRB NTPC GRADUATE CEN 06/2026 — THE CURRENT DETAILED NOTICE IS A DIFFERENT RECRUITMENT FROM WHAT THE EARLY 3,477-POST HEADLINES SUGGEST
Railway Recruitment Boards have issued the detailed CEN 06/2026 for graduate-level Non-Technical Popular Categories. The current controlling vacancy total is 3,548, not the 3,477 figure that appeared in the earlier indicative-notice coverage and remains embedded in some article URLs. Applications are open from 08 October 2026 to 06 November 2026, 23:59 hours.
1) THE FIRST THING TO CORRECT: 3,477 IS NOW STALE — THE DETAILED CEN HAS 3,548 The detailed CEN has: - Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor: 127 - Goods Train Manager: 2,750 - Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist: 300 - Senior Clerk Cum Typist: 371 Total: 3,548.
Compared with the earlier 3,477 indicative figure, the detailed total is higher by 71 vacancies, a 2.04% increase. The difference comes from Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor rising from the earlier indicative 56 to 127, while the other three post totals remain 2,750, 300 and 371. Applicants should use the detailed-CEN total of 3,548.
2) THIS YEAR'S GRADUATE NTPC STRUCTURE HAS ONLY FOUR POSTS CEN 06/2026 does not contain Station Master or Traffic Assistant. This matters because old NTPC preparation pages often describe those posts and their aptitude-test route as if every Graduate NTPC cycle is the same.
For comparison, official CEN 06/2025 had six graduate NTPC posts and 5,810 vacancies, including Station Master and Traffic Assistant. Current CEN 06/2026 has four posts and 3,548 vacancies — 2,262 fewer seats, a 38.93% reduction from that previous cycle. The current selection path must therefore be read from the 2026 CEN, not copied from older NTPC articles.
3) GOODS TRAIN MANAGER IS THE REAL CENTRE OF GRAVITY Goods Train Manager has 2,750 of 3,548 vacancies = 77.51%. The remaining three posts together have only 798 seats.
This means the recruitment is not evenly spread across four job choices. A candidate who is medically eligible and willing for GTM has access to by far the largest vacancy pool; a candidate excluding GTM is competing within only 22.49% of the current seats.
4) 96.42% OF THE VACANCIES ARE LEVEL-5 Level-5 posts: - GTM 2,750 - JAA Cum Typist 300 - Senior Clerk Cum Typist 371 Total Level-5 = 3,421 = 96.42%.
Level-6 CCTS = 127 = 3.58%.
So although CEN 06/2026 is advertised across Pay Levels 5 and 6, almost the entire vacancy pool is at Level 5.
5) VERTICAL RESERVATION ARITHMETIC ACROSS ALL POSTS Detailed Annexure-B totals: - UR: 1,517 = 42.76% - OBC-NCL: 873 = 24.61% - SC: 553 = 15.59% - ST: 300 = 8.46% - EWS: 305 = 8.60% Total = 3,548.
PwBD and Ex-Servicemen figures are horizontal/other reservation dimensions and should not be added to the above vertical total as if they were extra vacancies.
6) THE TOP FIVE RRBS HOLD MORE THAN HALF OF ALL VACANCIES Highest current RRB totals include: - Bilaspur: 542 = 15.28% - Ranchi: 377 = 10.63% - Bengaluru: 346 = 9.75% - Kolkata: 332 = 9.36% - Ajmer: 304 = 8.57%
Together these five RRBs hold 1,901 vacancies, or 53.58% of the entire 3,548-seat recruitment. This is why RRB choice deserves vacancy-table analysis rather than choosing only by nearest city.
7) RRB RANCHI IS THE SECOND-LARGEST VACANCY POOL — BUT IT IS 95.49% GTM RRB Ranchi has 377 vacancies: - CCTS: 6 - GTM: 360 - JAA Cum Typist: 0 - Senior Clerk Cum Typist: 11
Category total for RRB Ranchi: UR 152, SC 58, ST 28, OBC-NCL 104, EWS 35 = 377.
GTM alone contributes 360/377 = 95.49% of the Ranchi pool. An applicant choosing Ranchi but unwilling or medically unsuitable for GTM effectively has only 17 current non-GTM vacancies to compete for, and no JAA vacancy at all.
8) ONE RRB CHOICE IS A HIGH-STAKES DECISION A candidate can apply to only one RRB. The chosen RRB is final. Multiple applications to the same or different RRBs can cause rejection of all applications and debarment from future RRB/RRC examinations.
This makes 'try two RRBs and see which works' an especially dangerous strategy.
9) POST/ZONE PREFERENCES ARE NOT DECORATIVE Within the chosen RRB, candidates should rank only posts/zones for which they are eligible and genuinely willing. If no preference is given for an eligible post/category, RRB treats that omission as unwillingness for that option.
Preferences are final. A candidate can therefore reduce their effective vacancy pool simply by leaving an option blank.
10) MEDICAL STANDARD SHOULD BE CHECKED BEFORE PREFERENCE ORDER Medical standards: - CCTS: B2 - GTM: A2 - JAA Cum Typist: C2 - Senior Clerk Cum Typist: C2
GTM's A2 standard is the strictest among these current posts. The detailed CEN's LASIK guidance says candidates who have undergone LASIK are unfit for A2, while B2/C2 can be considered under prescribed conditions. This is not a minor after-selection issue: if a candidate is medically unsuitable for an opted post, the CEN does not create a right to an alternative appointment.
11) GTM IS NOT IDENTIFIED AS SUITABLE FOR PwBD IN ANNEXURE A Annexure A shows no PwBD suitability for Goods Train Manager, while the other notified posts identify specified disability categories. PwBD candidates should therefore inspect Annexure A before using the large GTM vacancy number in their personal opportunity calculation.
12) DEGREE MUST EXIST BY 06 NOVEMBER 2026 All four posts require a degree from a recognised University or equivalent. Candidates awaiting their final degree result are not eligible.
If a university issues the final certificate later but the result itself was declared before the closing date, the candidate should preserve marksheets/result-date evidence and any competent-authority proof required at document verification.
13) AGE IS 18-33 AS ON 01 JANUARY 2027 Basic age: 18 to 33 years. For the base category, the date-of-birth window is governed by the CEN's 01 January 2027 reference date.
Key relaxations include: - SC/ST: 5 years - OBC-NCL: 3 years - PwBD UR/EWS: 10 years - PwBD OBC-NCL: 13 years - PwBD SC/ST: 15 years - Ex-Servicemen: category-specific relaxation after deducting qualifying military service - specified serving Railway staff/substitutes: higher age ceilings under the CEN - specified widowed/divorced/judicially separated women not remarried: category-specific maximum-age concessions.
A crucial rule: age relaxations are not simply added together. Where a candidate qualifies under more than one category, the applicable maximum concession is governed by the CEN rather than arithmetic addition of every relaxation.
14) RESERVED-CATEGORY CANDIDATE COMPETING FOR UR MUST MEET UR CONDITIONS SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates using age relaxation or other relaxed standards are not automatically entitled to be treated against an UR vacancy under conditions that require the UR standard. Category choice should therefore match the actual certificate and relaxation being claimed.
15) FEE REFUND IS CONDITIONAL ON ACTUALLY APPEARING IN CBT-1 Fee structure: - General/non-concession category: Rs.500; Rs.400 is refundable after appearing in CBT-1, less applicable bank charges. - SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/EBC: Rs.250; Rs.250 is refundable after appearing in CBT-1, less bank charges.
An incomplete/rejected application or non-appearance does not create the same refund entitlement.
16) THE REFUND NOW DEPENDS ON AN AADHAAR-SEEDED BANK ACCOUNT The detailed CEN says examination-fee refund is credited to the bank account seeded with the candidate's Aadhaar number. The application workflow validates Aadhaar and surfaces the linked bank account; if no linked account is found, the candidate can be redirected through NPCI linking. This makes Aadhaar-bank linkage a practical payment/refund issue, not only an identity-verification issue.
17) EBC, EWS AND OBC ARE THREE DIFFERENT THINGS This CEN explicitly warns candidates not to confuse them.
EBC: - family annual income below Rs.50,000; - gives fee concession; - does NOT give job reservation merely on EBC status.
EWS: - vertical job reservation subject to EWS criteria; - family gross annual income below Rs.8 lakh for FY 2025-26 plus the notified asset exclusions; - valid Income and Asset Certificate required on the closing date.
OBC-NCL: - reservation depends on applicable OBC-NCL/Central-list requirements and valid documentation.
Choosing the wrong category because all three sound 'economic/backward' can affect fee, reservation and document verification in different ways.
18) CBT-1 IS A SCREENING EXAM — 100 QUESTIONS IN 90 MINUTES CBT-1: - General Awareness: 40 - Mathematics: 30 - General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Total: 100 questions / 100 marks / 90 minutes.
Eligible scribe users get the prescribed extended duration.
Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.
Minimum qualifying percentages: - UR/EWS: 40% - OBC-NCL: 30% - SC: 30% - ST: 25% PwBD shortage cases can receive the notified 2-mark relaxation.
19) CBT-2 SHORTLIST IS AROUND 15 TIMES COMMUNITY-WISE VACANCIES, NOT 15 TIMES THE ALL-INDIA TOTAL FOR EVERYONE CBT-2 shortlisting is based on normalized CBT-1 marks. The CEN targets 15 times the community-wise vacancies of posts notified against the chosen RRB, subject to Railway's right to vary the limit.
This is important because effective competition is tied to RRB + community + notified vacancy structure, not only the national headline of 3,548.
20) CBT-2 HAS 120 QUESTIONS IN 90 MINUTES CBT-2: - General Awareness: 50 - Mathematics: 35 - General Intelligence & Reasoning: 35 Total: 120 questions / 120 marks / 90 minutes.
Negative marking remains 1/3 per wrong answer. The same community-wise minimum qualifying percentages apply.
21) THERE IS NO CBTST IN THIS CEN — BUT TYPING HAS NOT DISAPPEARED For JAA Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist, the Computer Based Typing Skill Test has been expressly dispensed with in CEN 06/2026.
However, candidates are still expected to have basic computer proficiency and adequate typing proficiency. RRB says this can be assessed after joining, and unsatisfactory performance may affect or delay confirmation or promotion.
So 'no typing test' should not be rewritten as 'typing skill not required'.
22) THERE IS NO CBAT ROUTE IN THE CURRENT FOUR-POST CEN Because Station Master and Traffic Assistant are not notified in CEN 06/2026, the current recruitment process stated in the detailed CEN is CBT-1 -> CBT-2 -> Document Verification/Medical Examination. Older NTPC articles that automatically insert CBAT/typing stages are stale for this cycle.
23) DOCUMENT VERIFICATION IS TIGHT: ABOUT 1:1 Based on CBT merit, candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called for Document Verification at 1:1, RRB-wise, subject to the CEN rules. This is a very different funnel from the broader 15x CBT-2 shortlist.
24) TIE-BREAKING IS AGE, THEN GIVEN NAME If final merit marks are equal: - older candidate gets higher merit; - if age is also identical, alphabetical order of the given name, not surname, is used.
25) RRB DOES NOT ITSELF GUARANTEE THE APPOINTMENT RRB prepares/forwards the panel; the concerned Railway Administration issues the offer of appointment after eligibility, medical fitness, certificate and antecedent verification. Empanelment therefore should not be described as an unconditional appointment letter.
26) VACANCIES ARE PROVISIONAL EVEN AFTER THE DETAILED CEN RRB-wise/Railway-wise vacancies can increase, decrease or, for an establishment/post, potentially change according to Railway requirements. The 3,548 figure is the current detailed-CEN total, not a promise that every row remains frozen until final allotment.
27) THE RRB YOU CHOOSE CAN AFFECT YOUR LOCATION FOR YEARS The CEN says a Railway servant ordinarily remains with the Railway/establishment of first appointment and has no right to transfer to another Railway. A request for transfer to another Railway will not be registered until at least 5 to 10 years of service are completed.
That turns RRB choice into a long-term mobility decision, not just an examination-centre choice.
28) THE COMPANY-LIKE 'TRANSFER LATER' ASSUMPTION IS RISKY Competent Railway authorities can transfer employees based on service exigencies, including to other departments/Railway establishments/projects, but that does not give the employee a reciprocal right to demand an early inter-Railway transfer. Candidates should distinguish employer transfer power from employee transfer entitlement.
29) CREATE-ACCOUNT DETAILS AND CHOSEN RRB ARE LOCKED If a candidate already created an RRB account for earlier CENs, the same login is used. Create Account details, including mobile/email, cannot later be edited.
After application, other permissible details may be modified during 09-18 November 2026 by paying Rs.250 per occasion, but Create Account details and chosen RRB remain unchangeable.
30) THE MODIFICATION WINDOW STARTS AFTER THE FEE-PAYMENT DEADLINE Application closes: 06 November, 23:59. Fee payment closes: 08 November. Modification window: 09-18 November.
This sequence means a candidate should not confuse 'modification available later' with permission to miss the original application/fee deadlines.
31) LIVE PHOTO AND IDENTITY AUTHENTICATION ARE PART OF APPLICATION QUALITY CONTROL The portal captures a live photograph rather than merely relying on a stored old photo. Aadhaar/DigiLocker authentication is strongly advised. Applicants using alternate photo IDs can face stricter identity scrutiny at different recruitment stages.
32) EXAM-CITY CHOICE IS NOT A GUARANTEE Exam city/date/shift allocation depends on technical/logistical feasibility. Candidates may have to travel to another city or state, and requests to change exam date/centre/date/shift are not entertained.
33) SC/ST FREE SLEEPER-CLASS TRAVEL IS CONDITIONAL Eligible SC/ST candidates can receive the notified free sleeper-class Railway pass for selection stages if they opt for the facility and provide the required valid caste-certificate details. Misuse can lead to rejection/debarment.
34) TRAINING CAN MEAN STIPEND, NOT FULL REGULAR PAY, DURING THE TRAINING PERIOD Where training is prescribed after selection, the CEN says only stipend is paid during the training period. Candidates should not automatically annualise the post's initial basic pay from day one without accounting for any prescribed training condition.
35) RAILWAY-SERVICE CONDITIONS GO BEYOND THE EXAM The CEN also states that finally appointed candidates can be liable for active service in the Railway Engineers' Unit of the Territorial Army and may have to execute Security/Indemnity Bond wherever necessary. These are service-condition details that generic vacancy summaries usually omit.
36) POST PREFERENCE SHOULD BE A THREE-WAY DECISION Before ranking posts, evaluate: - vacancy availability in the chosen RRB; - medical standard/PwBD suitability; - actual willingness to accept the post/Railway for the long term.
Ranking solely by initial pay can backfire if the applicant is medically ineligible or unwilling to serve in the corresponding Railway/zone.
APPLICANT DECISION CHECKLIST - Use 3,548 as the current detailed-CEN vacancy total, not 3,477. - Choose only one RRB. - Review Annexure-B before selecting the RRB; do not choose only by nearest city. - For RRB Ranchi, note that 360 of 377 seats are GTM and there is no JAA seat. - Check medical standard before ranking GTM/CCTS/JAA/Senior Clerk. - LASIK candidates should carefully check A2 versus B2/C2 medical rules. - Do not submit a second application to another/same RRB. - Treat unselected preferences as unwillingness. - Ensure the degree/result exists by 06 November 2026. - Calculate age as on 01 January 2027. - Do not add age relaxations together unless the CEN permits the specific treatment. - Keep EBC, EWS and OBC-NCL rules separate. - If expecting a fee refund, verify Aadhaar-bank seeding before relying on it. - Prepare for 1/3 negative marking in both CBTs. - JAA/Senior Clerk candidates should practise typing despite CBTST being removed. - Keep the same mobile/email linked to the existing RRB account active. - Submit before 06 November 23:59 and pay the fee by 08 November. - Use the 09-18 November modification window only for fields that are actually editable. - Factor the 5-10 year inter-Railway transfer restriction into the RRB decision.
BOTTOM LINE The valuable way to read CEN 06/2026 is not 'RRB NTPC Graduate 3,548 vacancies'. The decisive applicant facts are that the old 3,477 headline is stale, GTM holds 77.51% of the seats, 96.42% of vacancies are Level-5, RRB Ranchi is unusually GTM-heavy, one-RRB selection is effectively irreversible, typing tests have been removed without removing typing expectations, A2 medical rules can reshape which vacancies are realistically available to a candidate, fee refund is linked to CBT-1 attendance and Aadhaar-seeded banking, and an RRB choice can shape posting mobility for 5-10 years.

1127 vacanciesChief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor
Qualification: Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent, possessed by 06 November 2026. Final-year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.Age: Not specifiedPay: ₹35,400 – ₹35,400 / month
Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor
Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent, possessed by 06 November 2026. Final-year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.
The only Level-6 post in CEN 06/2026. It has 127 vacancies, just 3.58% of the 3,548-seat recruitment, so the higher starting-pay option is a relatively small part of the overall vacancy pool.
- Initial pay: Rs.35,400, Pay Level 6; medical standard B2.
- Only 127 of 3,548 vacancies are in this Level-6 post.
- Post/Railway preferences should be given only after checking the B2 medical standard and the specific PwBD suitability table.
- Candidates who have undergone LASIK may be considered fit for B2 only subject to the medical criteria stated in the CEN; this differs from A2.
- Leaving this post/eligible zone unselected in the preference form is treated as unwillingness for that option.
UR-61, SC-19, ST-06, OBC-NCL-32, EWS-09. PwBD reservation is horizontal and is not added to this vertical total.
22,750 vacanciesGoods Train Manager
Qualification: Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent, possessed by 06 November 2026. Final-year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.Age: Not specifiedPay: ₹29,200 – ₹29,200 / month
Goods Train Manager
Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent, possessed by 06 November 2026. Final-year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.
Goods Train Manager dominates CEN 06/2026 with 2,750 vacancies, equal to 77.51% of all notified graduate NTPC seats. Its A2 medical standard is materially stricter than the B2/C2 standards attached to the other three posts.
- Initial pay: Rs.29,200, Pay Level 5; medical standard A2.
- This single post accounts for 77.51% of all 3,548 vacancies.
- A2 is a critical medical filter. The CEN's LASIK guidance treats candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery as unfit for A2.
- Annexure A does not identify Goods Train Manager as suitable for PwBD categories in this CEN.
- RRB Ranchi has 360 Goods Train Manager vacancies out of its 377 total seats, or 95.49%.
- Medical suitability should be checked before ranking this post because medical unfitness for an opted post does not create a right to an alternative appointment.
UR-1166, SC-424, ST-220, OBC-NCL-687, EWS-253.
3300 vacanciesJunior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist
Qualification: Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent, possessed by 06 November 2026. Final-year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.Age: Not specifiedPay: ₹29,200 – ₹29,200 / month
Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist
Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent, possessed by 06 November 2026. Final-year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.
A 300-seat Level-5 accounts/typing post. In an important change for CEN 06/2026, the Computer Based Typing Skill Test has been dispensed with, but typing/computer proficiency has not disappeared from the job expectation.
- Initial pay: Rs.29,200, Pay Level 5; medical standard C2.
- CBTST has been dispensed with for CEN 06/2026.
- Candidates are still expected to have basic computer and adequate typing proficiency; this may be assessed after joining.
- Unsatisfactory post-joining typing/computer performance may affect or delay confirmation or promotion.
- RRB Ranchi has no Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist vacancy in the current Annexure-B table.
UR-121, SC-47, ST-35, OBC-NCL-74, EWS-23. PwBD suitability is governed by Annexure A.
4371 vacanciesSenior Clerk Cum Typist
Qualification: Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent, possessed by 06 November 2026. Final-year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.Age: Not specifiedPay: ₹29,200 – ₹29,200 / month
Senior Clerk Cum Typist
Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent, possessed by 06 November 2026. Final-year/result-awaited candidates are not eligible.
A 371-seat Level-5 clerical/typing post. Like JAA, it no longer has a CBT-stage typing skill test under CEN 06/2026, but actual typing/computer proficiency remains relevant after joining.
- Initial pay: Rs.29,200, Pay Level 5; medical standard C2.
- CBTST has been dispensed with for CEN 06/2026.
- Basic computer and adequate typing proficiency are still expected and can be assessed after joining.
- Unsatisfactory post-joining performance may affect or delay confirmation or promotion.
- RRB Ranchi has 11 Senior Clerk Cum Typist vacancies in the current detailed vacancy table.
UR-169, SC-63, ST-39, OBC-NCL-80, EWS-20. PwBD suitability is governed by Annexure A.
Eligibility & Qualification
Recruitment-level qualifications and eligibility rules. Post-specific conditions are also shown inside each vacancy card.
Nationality / Eligibility Certificate
Candidate must satisfy the nationality conditions in CEN 06/2026, including Indian citizenship or the other specified eligible categories. Where the CEN requires a Government of India eligibility certificate, appointment is subject to that certificate.
Graduate Qualification by Closing Date
Degree from a recognised University or equivalent must be possessed on or before 06 November 2026. Candidates awaiting the final qualifying result are not eligible.
Post-Specific Railway Medical Standard
Medical fitness is post-specific: CCTS B2, GTM A2, JAA Cum Typist C2 and Senior Clerk Cum Typist C2. Appointment requires passing the prescribed Railway medical examination. Medical unsuitability for an opted post does not create a right to alternative appointment.
LASIK and A2 Medical Risk
The CEN's LASIK guidance treats candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery as unfit for A1/A2/A3 medical categories. B1/B2 and C1/C2 may be considered fit subject to the prescribed criteria. This is especially important for GTM, which carries A2.
Only One RRB / One Application
Only one online application and one RRB choice are permitted. Multiple applications to the same or different RRBs can result in rejection of all applications and debarment from future RRB/RRC examinations.
Post and Zone Preferences Are Final
Within the chosen RRB, the candidate must order eligible/willing post and zone preferences. Omitted options are treated as unwillingness and the preferences cannot later be freely changed.
Typing Test Removed, Typing Expectation Retained
CBTST has been dispensed with for Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist in CEN 06/2026. However, basic computer and adequate typing proficiency remain expected and may be assessed after joining; weak performance can affect/delay confirmation or promotion.
EBC Fee Concession Is Not EWS Reservation
Economically Backward Class (EBC) means annual family income below Rs.50,000 for this fee-concession purpose. EBC is distinct from EWS and OBC and does not itself create job reservation.
EWS Income and Asset Conditions
EWS reservation requires family gross annual income below Rs.8 lakh for FY 2025-26, subject to the notified asset exclusions, and a valid Income and Asset Certificate on the closing date.
CBT Minimum Qualifying Percentage
Minimum qualifying percentages are UR/EWS 40%, OBC-NCL 30%, SC 30%, ST 25%. The notified 2-mark relaxation may apply for PwBD candidates where there is shortage against reserved PwBD vacancies.
Aadhaar-Seeded Bank Account for Fee Refund
Conditional examination-fee refund after appearing in CBT-1 is processed to an Aadhaar-seeded bank account under the CEN's refund procedure. Candidates are responsible for ensuring the linked account is valid and operational.
Inter-Railway Transfer Restriction
A newly appointed Railway servant has no right to immediate inter-Railway transfer; the CEN says a request for transfer to another Railway will not be registered until at least 5 to 10 years of service are completed.
Age Limit & Relaxation
Recruitment-level age criteria. Post-specific age conditions remain visible inside each vacancy card.
Application Fee
Category-wise application fee information.
Rs.500 examination fee. Rs.400 is refundable after the candidate appears in CBT-1, after deduction of applicable bank charges. Refund is subject to the CEN's Aadhaar-seeded bank-account procedure.
Rs.250 concessional examination fee. Rs.250 is refundable after appearing in CBT-1, after deduction of applicable bank charges. EBC is a fee-concession category and must not be confused with EWS/OBC reservation.
Salary & Pay Scale
Post-wise salary, stipend or pay-matrix information.
Initial pay Rs.35,400 under 7th CPC Pay Level 6; notified medical standard B2.
Initial pay Rs.29,200 under 7th CPC Pay Level 5; notified medical standard A2.

Selection Process
Selection stages in the order configured for this recruitment.
1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1)
Common screening CBT for all four posts: 100 questions in 90 minutes — General Awareness 40, Mathematics 30, General Intelligence & Reasoning 30. Each wrong answer attracts 1/3 negative mark. Minimum qualifying percentage: UR/EWS 40, OBC-NCL/SC 30, ST 25, subject to the notified PwBD relaxation.
2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2)
Candidates are shortlisted on normalized CBT-1 marks, ordinarily up to 15 times the community-wise vacancies of posts against the chosen RRB. CBT-2 has 120 questions in 90 minutes: General Awareness 50, Mathematics 35, General Intelligence & Reasoning 35; 1/3 negative marking applies. CBTST for JAA/Senior Clerk is expressly dispensed with in this CEN.
Document Verification, Medical Examination and Empanelment
Based on CBT merit and minimum qualifying marks, candidates equal to vacancies are called for DV at about 1:1 RRB-wise, followed by prescribed medical fitness and empanelment. Tie-break uses older age first, then alphabetical order of given name if age is also equal. Final appointment is issued by the concerned Railway Administration, not merely by RRB empanelment.
